ae174agze Posted August 12, 2008 Report Posted August 12, 2008 lot of farks there wastegate dump pipe maby its good ahaha at lease its fixed now should throw clutch in as well ahahahah Quote
ancullen Posted August 12, 2008 Author Report Posted August 12, 2008 gtech isnt that bad but by the drive yesterday sumthing is wrong the car wont rev like it should ie being restricted and can't force the air in... need bigger piping Maybe the SC14 is close to McFarked? It could be creating excess drag on the motor as a result (eg. farked bearings). I wouldn't have thought the restriction created by the piping would be THAT noticable. Especially not since you've just upgraded from the SC12 and its super-shitty standard piping. Turns out radiator has cracks in both end tanks and the core is rusting from the inside lol Edit: also, thermo was wired in wrong, exhaust leak behind cat, exhaust leak in screamer pipe(wtf is it called when its plumbed in lol) radiator was completely farked so got a new one. Fark me Yikes - that's not good at all. If you've put a new alloy radiator in, make sure you get a metal filter to put in between the engine and the radiator inlet. It's too catch all the small shards of metal that come from the iron block engine through normal operation. You don't want them entering the alloy radiator as they can't be pressure cleaned. Quote

Especially not since you've just upgraded from the SC12 and its super-shitty standard piping. i don't think the sc is farked, it does hav a kinda noisy clutch bearing but seeing as thats locked shut wen the clutch is activated its not that, been having a chat with "Scott" (steve know who I'm on about) and have kinda come to the conclusion that the excess heat greated by the bigger unit and complete lack of efficent cooling is killing ALL my power (palm of hand test shows no difference between inlet and outlet of intercooler), so bye bye to interheater and bring one the w2a and 2.5inch piping once this is all setup ill take it for a dyno get the a/f ratios looked at a tune up n see what i can pull. adam keep in mind its running just off double the boost through those shitty plastic pipes and i think one of the vacum lines is hooked up wrong as there is alot of vacum on the sc outlet. ancullen Posted August 12, 2008 Author Report Posted August 12, 2008 What's with being so secretive about the whole thing. I'm definitely not going to be using an SC14 on my 4A-GZE - ever. As for the W2A, you really should come and see the GT-Four engine bay after a spirited drive on a regular Darwin day. You can hear the fluid in the intercooler boiling. ;) I think there might be something wrong. ;) Of course, with your car being mid-engined, you can't feasibly use an air-to-air, as it'd be even hotter. Have you considered mounting the intercooler in the boot, still with the radiator up front? This way the intercooler won't get heat soak from the engine, and the intake piping will only be marginally longer. Quote
Pure-SX Posted August 12, 2008 Report Posted August 12, 2008 Meh you should have heard the radiator catch can ;) Quote
Pure-SX Posted August 12, 2008 Report Posted August 12, 2008 woot for temps being 75 at the most ;) Quote
Ella Posted August 12, 2008 Report Posted August 12, 2008 werd to that man! thats why i love my std 4a-c never rises temp, even after a 4 minute long burnout ;) thats 4 minutes people... oi andrew, give us a ring tomorrow arvo when your home, i need to come grab my sunnies, i left em at your place the other day, they should be on the ground or on the front bumper of the red car Quote
wasfishing Posted August 12, 2008 Report Posted August 12, 2008 my car temps don't rise... its just tehintake temp thats to she shit house atm, my w2a will be more effitant (spelling) not being a smart ass or any thing but its true I'm not being secritive ;) Quote
ancullen Posted August 13, 2008 Author Report Posted August 13, 2008 I think I need to get both my radiator and the intercooler heat exchanger tested to ensure that they're working properly. I'm hoping the intercooler water pump is working properly too. Still goes farking hard, it's just really worrying when I hear bubbling and boiling noises. ;) Quote
wasfishing Posted August 13, 2008 Report Posted August 13, 2008 u should get that looked at asap thats not good need to get mine hooked up asap Quote
