lyonsy Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 just out of curoisty what are you doing with the carby cause you will ether have to have it as a suck through (seals don't last very long on normal turbo's that way) or blow through (have to build a presurised box to put carby in so that the carby wont blow its self apart and make's tuning very hard) put injection of a 5k starlet motor? on easyer cheaper to both assemble and tune plus u have injection that way to mark Quote
z|gen Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 only the 4K-E and 7K-E came with fuel injection. iv just managed to score myself a 4K-E injection setup, whcih I'm gonna have a bit of a play around with and stuff, are charade turbo pistons dished or flat top ? could always use 4K-U pistons which i think are quite dished ? Mr Revhead[RL] Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 you the same fella on toyspeed? hows the springs? :) why not stick charade engien in a ke70? hehe different! Quote
fourwheeldemon Posted February 1, 2005 Author Report Posted February 1, 2005 hey guys sorry i havent replied in a while my internet doesnt work too well lately! stupid dial-up! just a few things... *does anyone have more info on fitting the 1ggt pistons into a 4k? *does anyone know where i can source a fuel injetction? as i was goin to run a 350 holley with smaller jets and plastic floats in a blowthrough setup but apparently they have bad flat spots in them? *also I'm trying to track down a 5k dizzy (don't laugh i know they are hard to find but someone must have one!!! lol) would anyone have one? from pat Quote
TRD ke70 Posted April 2, 2005 Report Posted April 2, 2005 i know where a 7k-e manifold is, could be missing some parts though,(price ?) 7k dizzy is the same as 5k(internal igniter)but could be expensive. Quote
Super Jamie Posted April 2, 2005 Report Posted April 2, 2005 7k-e manifold would be good for turbo if you could match the ports, you'd need to sleeve the runners where they bolt to the head Quote
Mr Revhead[RL] Posted April 2, 2005 Report Posted April 2, 2005 don't fit the 1g pistons to the 4k rods... use the 1g rods aswell. straight fit. they appear to be still making the 7k... Quote
NickZ Posted April 2, 2005 Report Posted April 2, 2005 Stop mucking around...just get the 1GGTE complete and put that in. Quote
TRD ke70 Posted April 2, 2005 Report Posted April 2, 2005 V8 owners hate 4 cylinder turbo cars that KICK THERE ASS!!! even better when driven by a girl :D Quote
blown 5k Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 You`ll find 1ggte pistons will fit alright as Mr Revhead has said i`m guessing the person he`s refering to is Matt Dunn.I don't believe that 1ggte rods are any different to that of late normal k series rods perhaps Mr Revhead can do a part number crossreference.1ge pistons have the valve cutouts the wrong way around to suit k series but thats no biggy, you cannot turn the pistons the other way round as the pins are offset on them yes pins are 18mm.1g pistons are std 75mm bore same as 4k.Like someone said earlier build a n/a motor lots easier wont hole pistons when you get something wrong unless you really screw up,or build a strong 5k plenty of torque when built correctly. Mr Revhead[RL] Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 hmmm who are you i wonder..... yup twas matt... did a quick search on the epc, couldnt find any 4k rods the same as 1g.... i don't think valve cut outs will be a problem.... they will be lower compression remember :D Quote
blown 5k Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 Yeah stuff all only about 1.5cc 1g rods fit we`ve used them for years but they`re identical to late k rods all good :D Quote
Mr Revhead[RL] Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 yeah i can't be arsed doing a full search right now, but i will one day Quote
Felix Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 (edited) 1GGZ pistons have a 20 mm pin, pin height 32.5. ......NA 1Gs have 18mm pins, same pin height. K series have 18mm pin, 36mm pin height. to fit the 1GGZ pistons and rods correctly (to have any squish/quench to help prevent detonation), the 1G rods would have to be 3.5 mm longer. 5k rods are slightly different to 4k rods. a bit thicker across the beam, probably to deal with the extra piston mass. would be different part numbers.
