dfunkt Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 the only way to kill a ke20 is to scrap it! very much loving the rod look atm, been hanging around a valiant lover too much! are you going two-tone?? or just mattblack the whole thing? Quote
Doogs Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 way to kill a ke20.... Actually, it seems like he brought it back to life..... have another look at the before shots ! Anyway, his car = his choice. Well done charl for doing something different, looks like it will come up quite well  Good to see you saved it from the crusher :jamie: Quote
harun Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 At least he wont need to spend money on polish for his paint, unlike the people that have gloss. Like me for instance. Quote
ScottKE1X Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 way to kill a ke20.... The truth is he's probably saving it. A matt black ke20 crusing the streets is better than half a car in someones shed that may never see the street again... I'm also doing a simular theme on my current mk1 escort project and my ke10 in the shed will also get the same treatment. Great way to make something decent from something with body work no 100%. Tom, I believe its the very same ke25 as it was Scotty's mate who built it (Bassy?) cheers Scott. Quote
charl Posted April 20, 2008 Author Report Posted April 20, 2008 thats a nice example right there! love the red interior, looks awesome!! hopefully mine will end up at least half as good as that! Quote
smeetsy1 Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 (edited) Yes, at the end of the day it was a negative comment, and yes it is his car and his choice... The reason i said it is because i believe if you are going to do something, do it right. From the pictures i have seen from ROL-110 and PMP20, they are both done very well but Charls paintjob falls a little short (my standards) hence my comment. I did read that once you get the money you wil be fixing it up, i hope to see the progress and i will keep my negative comments to myself. Will Edited April 20, 2008 by smeetsy1 Quote
Sim Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 farrrr out that ke10 looks awesome. always wanted a matt black paintjob, just looks so cool haha. Quote
charl Posted April 20, 2008 Author Report Posted April 20, 2008 just the progress ive made today. started putting the outside back together again. I'm very happy with the way its turning out. its really got that "hand made" feel to it!! I love the mirrors ive put on it!! theyre heaps retro. the left headlight has a thicker ring around it so I'm looking for one the same for the other side because ive decided I'm not goin to put the square plastic chrome things on due to the updated front end. so if anyone knows where i can get one please let me know! PMP020 Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 (edited) I'm sorry to hijack your thread charl, but just to clear things up. the matt black ke25 used to be mine and used to be orange, i sold it to a mate, he drove it for a few years, then Bassy sprayed it matt black, then my mate sold it so some punk. yes it had a 5k, went very hard. turned alot of heads. car is lookin tops charl, keep up the hard work. gota love the pressure pack spray job  ive got another headlight ring here charl, concider it yours. cheers, scott Edited April 20, 2008 by PMP020 Quote
charl Posted April 20, 2008 Author Report Posted April 20, 2008 the bottom cap is how they were when i got them, the top one is after my partner spent most of the afternoon painting the red into them to look good again!! all four finished she also painted the grill badge red bits today and the boot badge as well but i don't have pics yet. so at the moment the outside is just about done and next weekend we can start on the interior. ive already picked the material for the roof lining and door trims so i don't think itll take all that long to complete now. i am pretty sure that I'm going to be needing help with wiring soon as well because i don't think the wiring in the car is up to scratch... but well see when we get there I'm sure!
