Mate you're a machine.

Looking good though!

Whats your plan for the dash pad? I have a ke10 one at home that I have sanded and bogged the cracks in. This weekend I am going to lay some 5mm foam over it and then stretch some clark rubber vinyl across that. Hopefully, the foam will even out the rough spots where I filled the cracks. Probably use a heat gun to stretch the vinyl.

Is this what you are doing? Let us know, I'm interested in comparing results!

so the little black rolla had its debut drive today, first time since i got it about 3 months ago. i went and regoed it today and now its officially mine!

funny thing though, rego dept said its registered as a 1970 model according to their paperwork, can this be true? i thought it was a 72 model.... but it doesnt matter anyway because this opens a world of possibilities because its pre 72. correct me if I'm wrong. also if you guys would be so kind as to point me in the direction of what is legal on such an "old" car i would be most appreciative.

anyway, back to the drive. my exhaust doesnt bolt up quite flush to the extractors so there is a MAJOR leak right there and needless to say this makes it sound like poo. this will be fixed on saturday though. but apart from sounding crappy, the car was feeling like it was missfiring a fair bit. could this be due to the exhaust problem? i hope so cause then it should go away saturday. i suppose i should change the oil, filter, fuel filter, leads, sparkplugs, and maybe points as well? it ran under half temp all the way from my place to bunnings munno para and back and a bit of side street action along the way, idles like a dream.

I'm so happy that RAGIN' is on the road at last! but not near finished unfortunately. but driving it will inspire me to do things even more quickly!!! already had quite a few comments about the car and i was very happy about it!

anyway, i think ill go take a bit of a siesta for a while as I'm heaps tired.

cheers

excellent to hear youve got it regoed and on the road Charl.

an exhaust leak wont cause a car to missfire, but after sitting for so long a good tune up will be a good idea.

start with fuel filter, plugs, and pionts.

then move onto leads, cap, rotor etc etc.

just check your compliance plate on the opposite side of your chassis number, sill soon tell u the month/year of build.

and just check the plate in front of RH strut tower to make sure the chassis number matches.

keep up the good work champ.

cheers, scott

i know you're in SA, but anyway, go down the list to Modification Guide. you could use it as a guide for what's legal and what's not.

i can't be arsed to find the other links to the national rules and regs :rocknroll:

Always glad to help. Its really come along way.

main things id be doing would be checkin the clearance between the starter solenoid and the stractors as theres bugger all clearance and see if theres a way to get the stractors not rubbing on the gearbox cross member. Sounded tough with that exhaust leak tho. Whats a center console woth from the wreckers as it mightnt be a bad idea for mine. bugger bout that fuse tho, but at least you can't scare yourself any more

just got ragin' back from the exhaust place, cost $150 bucks and now she is schweet!!! extractors go over the gearbox crossmember where they are supposed to and the car sound wicked, not like a rally beast like yesterday but it still sounds nice!

my partner Sarah has just signed up to the forum as well so keep an eye out for her posts. I'm sure well be looking for a rolla for her as soon as mine is all done.....

anyway, still got heaps of work to do so

bye for now!

Konichiwa bitchez!

I'm Sarah, world's most awesome girlfriend! (modest too!)

so this morning, we're in my car (britney, the paseo) on the way to u-pull-it, to get Charl's centre console out of the Paseo that we knew was there, and he's whining about the back seat he had for the rolla... so in my neverending brilliance i say "why don't you get the seats out of the paseo aswell?"

So $120 later, we pretty much have the entirity of the paseo interior for the rolla... all baring the front seat-belts which someone had aready taken (bastards)... is gonna look shweeeeeeeet!

mmm... yeah that's all i got for now...

The End.
