I've made a few nice shiny chunky noises trying to shift into reverse from 5th a few times since I got the short shift kit, keep missing 4th :P

Am more used to it now though, doesn't happen too often anymore...

Bah you havent seen a compression lockup until youve seen a Komatsu HD325 driving down the hill to the workshop with 3 wheels turning....and one deciding not to (air lockable open center diff)

btw. These things make 364kw@2000rpm out of a 6cyl, 15 litre engine, and have just over 65 tonne gross weight. They have a 7 spd automatic gearbox and can do 70kmph fully loaded.

They also have Macpherson front struts WITH DISK BRAKES.

AND i get paid for it :P hahahahaha

I compression locked up in the corolla once in the wet.

accidental 5th to 2nd change in my sloppy old 5 spd. ass hung out at a 50-60 degree angle with me turning the wheel as fast as I could crapping my dacks about where the fella behind me was.

Its pretty impressive the speeds these things can pickup in a short distance. Theyd make a sub 2 second 60 footer aye. Earth shattering torque.

Thats fully laiden too. Do another calculation on 26 tonnes (dry weight)

Thats on the proviso they can accually FIT between the christmas tree and side walls and then avoid running over the 60 footer blocks.

28.4 seconds empty lol. Need a MPH calculator

For what it's worth, compression is a useful tool in unsettling the car on dirt, and lining it up for a corner. Very handy with a locked diff, as turn-in can often be at a premium. Requires a bit of practice to get right though...... :P
