drying time depends on a lot of factors, such as temperature, humidity, amount of sealant applied.

most say "fast drying" i haven't seen one saying slow drying.

leave it over night should be good the next day. I'm not sure which one you have, but i used a permatex sealant, said about 12hours, i left it over night so it was about 15 hours or something. i used it on a thermostat housing, haven't had a leak so far.

Some sealants only set on the flange of the parts and the stuff that gets squeezed out wont set can't remember the name.

Edit: “anaerobic” gasket (cures in the absence of air)

I always use Permatex No. 3 non-hardening aviation goop. Excellent stuff, slap it on and go. Never leaks. Great to use on paper gaskets etc. makes them reusable. Brilliant for spark plug tubes in K motors.

thanks guys! i bought it for the thermostat housing thinking it was the sort that you used INSTEAD of a gasket... think it may be the sort that goes with a gasket... ill try it out tommorow but ill most likely just have to go buy the gasket...

lol... whenever i get that feeling ..."i really shouldnt be cutting corners like this" it allways ends out i do the job twice... theres a lesson in there somewhere lol
