benzo Posted May 25, 2008 Report Posted May 25, 2008 Nooo not Superlights for this haha as much as I like, them the chasers and whitewalls look tight! :( Cheers, Ben. Quote
Sim Posted May 25, 2008 Author Report Posted May 25, 2008 lol, i love the look of superlites, I'm still gonna keep the chasers but they aren't the best fit in the world, one of em as a slight buckle i found out and one has a different offset to the other 3 :(. are steel wheels able to be modifed to suit my car perfectly? as in can u change the offset/pattern? if so i would most likely spend the money to do that rather then buy a whole new set of wheels. i just want a nice set of 15s, that don't vibrate when u drive on em hah. Quote
benzo Posted May 25, 2008 Report Posted May 25, 2008 Yeah thats the thing about steelies, they always vibrate. hmm sounds a bit dodgy with 1 wheel different to the others and buckled. You might be able to get something done, but I have no idea lol. Cheers, Ben. Quote
Sim Posted May 25, 2008 Author Report Posted May 25, 2008 well 2 of em i pinched off the panelvan n the othr 2 i got for free from a mate, the 2 dodgy ones came off the panelvan lol. so atleast i didn't pay anythin for em, i just sprayed em up n slapped some tyres on em. ill suss something out n see if i can get em fixed. i'd still prefer to get the superlites aswell :(. not until the car get resprayed tho, thats the next priority after registration. radrollaz Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 where do you buy the trim rings from? Jono, try American Auto spares. :lolcry: Quote
radrollaz Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 (edited) No shit, mega jealous here mate. As for centre caps, RadRollaz on here has a similar wheel and tyre combo and is running standard ke30 centre caps. They should look pretty mickey on a KE2* too. Cheers, Ben. Hi guys i used standard ke30 centre caps and welded the inner braket on to rim so i could get them to stay on, little bit of mucking around but looked good in the end. By the way i love your wagon and pano , also your wheels look identical to mine but mine are R31 skyine . I just love that blaked out look :lolcry: Now I'm keen to get my sunvisor on the car as yours looks great. Edited May 26, 2008 by radrollaz Quote

Sim Posted May 31, 2008 Author Report Posted May 31, 2008 mmm, just quickly. I'm having trouble finding the VIN for this thing, i found the old rego label from last year in the glovebox which has the engine number (which i found) but has another number on it which I'm assuming is the VIN, but i can't find it in the engine bay. theres a number on the firewall that starts with KE26-xxx.... but it doesn't match the number on the rego label. any idea where i could find it? iv looked on the build plates etc but can't see anything :). Doogs Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 Looks great sim, can't wait to cruise with you. Just out of interest, what tyres are those and where did you get them ? (I assume the whitewalls were an aftermarket job) Hopefully will have the 20 painted and ready by August :) Quote

Hey Sim, car is looking awesome. can't wait to se it after panel and paintwork. re the VIN number, cars before around 1990 didn't have a VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) the number ke26 xxx is the body number the number on the rego label is the serial number which is only a Vicroads reference number. hope this helps, Dave Quote
