hi I'm doing the old battery in the boot.. and what guage wire should be used?? would it be the same wire that is used to power your amp?? i think thats like 8g but not sure...

 

any info would be great and anything else i might need to know about the relocation..

Basically don't go any smaller than the wires that go to the battery currently.

Bigger won't hurt, just don't use 0 guage as that too big. 8 or 4 should be fine.

I did this in my car.

i used 8 guage. ran a wire into a distribution block and plugged everything except the alternator into that.

the alternator wire need to be seperate.. better for chargin your battery

so run a wire from the alternator down the car directly to your positive battery terminal.

 

to be legal you need a strapped battery box and it need to be vented to the atmosphere!

the engineer i used passed my drycell battery without any ventilation.

 

i used a 25 square millimetre wire from the battery to a isolating switch in the cabin. also ran an earth cable from the same place where the battery is earthed down to the front of the car too.

doesnt matter were its earthed does it??

 

i got the wire from the amp already from the bonnet to the boot so just hook it up to that n rewire the amp...

yep just earth to some metal in the boot
