Just discovered this page today, and oh what a relief. there actually IS people out there that are experiencing what i thought was rare.

the feeling of an old, rear wheel drive corolla, a pissy engine, and yet still a giant smile on their dial. =D

anywho,

i'm 19, my name is nigel, i live in adelaide and this is my rolla

its a 1984 Toyota Corolla CS sedan, KE70 with a 4K 1.3L engine

its done 245,000km, been serviced on a regular basis, and has almost imaculate bodywork.

the only modifications that i have made so far are:

- new seat covers (let me know what brand to buy to fit the damned rear bench seat)

- pioneer sound system

- it once had a back louva thingy, so the mounts are still there grrr.

- no passenger shelf thing (sick of people hitting thier shins)

- steering wheel cover

- new battery to power pioneer stuff.

now that you have seen my car, i have a few questions to ask.

1) can i put a boot release lever in my CS from a CSX?

2) has anyone wired up anything to the door pins, like an extra interior light?

3) where the hell do i get a back seat cover from? i mean, one that actually fits.

4) are there ANY aftermarket tailights available, or ones that can be made to fit?

thats my 2 cents for now

cheers for the welcome :P

Yup - you can put all csx parts into your cs with no problems.

Putting the boot release thingie in requires taking out the back seat, and drivers side seat. If you are good, you can do it without taking it all out - but it gets very freking fiddely. Put a tacho dash in as well, they are a direct plug in with absoluelty_no_wirining issues at all.

Yes you can put extra things on the door pins, but remember to adjust the fuse (& wireing ) accordingly...

i had same problems finding rear seat covers for mine... supercheap / autobahn and repco have them, you just have to trial and error.

No after market tail lights avaliable, unless you want to get some from a Te70 / Ae70... American / NZ / Jap spec Ke70 which are a slightly different design, but to what i know - direct bolt in

about the tacho dash...

u say its a direct plug in? i've never had the dash out before, so i don't want to get half way through it and realise i need some extra parts etc.

i can't read analogue clocks anyway, so a tacho would be more usefull.

hehe, went for a bang around on the dirt tracks near my place tonight. damn, she slides well when u got no back seat, spare tyre, passenger seat, and u have the pressures up in the rear....

anywho, scared myself shitless around a gravel hairpin, because gum trees are more scary at night when ur sliding sideways....

time for some sleep i guess.
