Johno Posted May 19, 2008 Author Report Posted May 19, 2008 (edited) You shoulda lent him the Falcon :y: BTW For those door trims from my brothers 4 runner, its the 1990 sr5 jap model, incase u possibly want them :P I would lend him the falcon but i like the little luxury's like keyless entry, cruise control, air bags, power windows, big sereo etc.. I had someone say to me last week "YOU don't NEED CRUISE CONTROL IN THIS COROLLA, YOU NEED HOON CONTROL" I thought it was funny as! I might lend the falcon to him on the weekends so i can do more work on the rolla. I'm hanging out to get my double din headunit delivered. Should be next week  I'm trying to google pics of the sr5 doortrims to get an idea of what they look like. I am not sure yet. I might just get some vinyl and wrap it over the 6 inch door pods. I'll let you know, cheers  Edited May 19, 2008 by Johno Quote
Johno Posted May 20, 2008 Author Report Posted May 20, 2008 (edited) I don't know where to post this and i don't want to start another thread so i thought i'll just put this here. I few years back i owned a 1985 toyota corona. It was the fastest car i have ever owned. Normally these corona's are a ST-141 but this model was a RT-142, looks the same as the ST but had a 2.4l multi point fuel injection. It was a sedan, 5speed man rear wheel drive. I never got it tested for power but it went very quick. Me and my mate tested it on a 1/4 mile and i got high 15's. I drove it down to philip island once and the speedo only goes to 180km/s per hour and i had the needle pointing right around back to 0km guessing i was doing 230km/perhour. Funny thing is i bought the car for only $2100 and i didn't do any mods on it. Not sure what was done on it, looked stock to me. I only had it for 12months because i was on my P's and being young i thrashed it everywhere. I blew 4 diffs and done the center bearings twice in 1 year and the diff was on it's way out for the 5th time when i sold it. I could have 4 people in the car and spin the wheels in second gear in the dry or put the car in 3gear and do donuts. Sold it for $200 to a guy i was living with. :) I only have one pic of it. I'll try and put it up soon Edited May 20, 2008 by Johno Quote

Johno Posted June 6, 2008 Author Report Posted June 6, 2008 It's been a while since i updated this project, I had the day off work today. I don't get much time to do any work on my rolla because when i get home its pitch black outside (dam daylight savings!) Anyway had the day off and i tried to get a clutch but no one would do it on such short notice. (Fair enough.. I only gave them one hour notice) I didn't expect to have the day off so hence the short notice. So anyway instead of spending the money on the clutch i bought more shit for my car like paint, carpet etc.. By the way i found my usb phone cable so here are pics of last fortnight weekend. Sorry, my internet is not letting me upload any pics :lmao: I can't get these pics up, i'll try later. Quote

Johno Posted June 6, 2008 Author Report Posted June 6, 2008 By the way i have the rolla back, I lent my mate the falcon. Here is some pics of what i did today. I'm using this sheet of 3mm mdf to make new door trims for my 6" splits Thats all i could do today because it started to get dark I'll cut the mdf to shape tomorrow and put on the new black carpet and attach the pods. Johno Posted June 8, 2008 Author Report Posted June 8, 2008 (edited) New pics from this morning (sunday). Door trims are finished! :D I used bolts to attach the MDF to the door trims, Its underneath the carpet so you wont see any ugly screws like my first attempt at this a few years back on another car... Johno Posted June 10, 2008 Author Report Posted June 10, 2008 Got my reverse camera in the seca today, works great :P Just hung the wires over the seats and plugged it in. When it came time to install it properly it was a friggin nightmare!! I had to get the wires down the side of the window which ment using a coat hanger and pulling the wires through. Just as i got the video cable through the other side it snapped!! :P Quote
Johno Posted June 11, 2008 Author Report Posted June 11, 2008 I have got the car booked in tomorrow for a new clutch and machined fly wheel, should have a bit more power after this. I could only put the foot about halfway down before because otherwise it would slip like buggery. Quote
