Johno Posted April 27, 2008 Author Report Posted April 27, 2008 I have a question, I have a 1.6l carb engine. Need more power but don't want to spend too much money. Could i get the engine pulled out and recond with new cam, webber and other stuff or put a twin cam in. Buget is about $2500 Quote
JiP Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 I'm pretty sure you can. As far as I know you can bolt in pretty much any A series engine into its place. Quote

200Boy Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 (edited) Awesome work man! Few little mods go a long way with these cars. Should be easy as to come by some rear twinky disks and a stocko strut top bar. Ae102 disks and calipers bolt right on too. As far as springs/struts go theres usually some around in forum classifieds. Great to see this car develop :rocknroll: Oh and if you haven't yet, putting in fresh plugs and oil makes a great difference. Edited April 29, 2008 by 200Boy Quote

I changed the oil about 2 weeks ago. It was like thick black sludge :rocknroll: Ran a bit smoother after that but i never really got to compare how it really went coz i've only driven the car about 4 times now. Took it for a long drive up to bonnie doon last weekend (about 2.5hours each way). Taking it for a long drive this sunday for the lilydale cruise up to Noogee. Should blow out some more cobwebs out of the carby :jamie: Thanks for the advice on the disks.. :P Quote
200Boy Posted May 1, 2008 Report Posted May 1, 2008 Something else that works is carby cleaner :rocknroll: blew loads of stuff out of mine and it ran better for it. Quote
