Medicine_Man Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 I agree that its good to keep the spares that break or will come in handy, just offload the stuff that you don't need taking up valuable space  Quote
demuire Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 Plus the fact that good KE3x and KE5x parts are actually getting quite scarce at the wreckers... Quote
Xany Posted January 7, 2005 Author Report Posted January 7, 2005 thats cause i have most of them.......hahahahaha... very true fook.... Quote
Medicine_Man Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 thats cause i have most of them.......hahahahaha... ROFL!!! come a few years time its guys like us that stockpile the rare parts that will keep them going  Quote
TOMsGPTurbo Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 (edited) haha thats what I want to avoid!!! cars all over the back yard .. car parts all over the place... I know its cool to have and very handy but thank god you put it in a shed !! Why not set up an online 'Classic' & 'hard to get'corolla parts shop? like have a webpage listing all the parts and sell em online, if it doesn't work what do you have to loose  Edited January 7, 2005 by TOMsGPTurbo Quote
Teddy Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 Me likeie tommys idea  DO it ! DOoooo it ! bahaha Quote
Felix Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 (edited) actually i thought there wasn't that much stuff at all...... after moving and taking 5 loads to the dump (3 with trailer) i still have way more. i threw away over a dozen wheels and tyres alone. also got rid of a full trailerload of EH Holden parts i had. my ke10 is chock full of parts, just enough room to sit in the drivers seat. i have a trailer loaded with 2 engines, 5 gearboxes 3 diffs, and heaps of struts, suspension stuff and other gear under a tarp, flattening the trailer springs. also have a pallet piled with gear, not to mention heaps of other stuff still to be sorted already in my garden shed. i need to trim things down more, and stop collecting so much crap. Xany Posted January 9, 2005 Author Report Posted January 9, 2005 thats only about a 1/4 of my collection.......the other wall of the shed is filled with 3k/4k/13t motors, including but not limited to, 4 or 5 gearboxes, about 4 or 5 diffs, the only thing i don't really have much of is suspension parts. not to mention theres still a wagon out the back ready to be emptied as well....... i'd say we'd prolly have about the same..... Felix Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 haha, we're both mad  actually sounds like you'd win now....6 months ago it would have been a different story. i've given away and thrown away almost half of my stuff in recent time. i sorta figure "i'll use it oneday" and keep it. must admit it has saved me thousands of $$$ over the years just having the spares there, and not having to pay a premium price at the wreckers (not to mention finding the parts). don't have as much room anymore  must have a tidy up and further sort out soon. maybe we all should have a garage/boot sale/swapmeet or something? Teddy Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 If i wasnt at home, i would have a very frekin big trailer and an F150 ute, and i could be happly taking all old parts that people don't want  Garage sale is good :P Quote
Xany Posted January 9, 2005 Author Report Posted January 9, 2005 (edited) doug: yes.....mad i am.....but i got most of my hoarding skills from dad.....reason being is that he has an old 65 HD holden ute.....so he needs spare parts as well......and i just started my collection and basically have more stuff than him now......thats a little worrying. the "i'll use it one day" is my motto too.....and has saved me a bit of money.....my hand brake cable in the blue beast is about to go TWANG! so i'll have to take the one out of the blue car out the back......i love having spares Edited January 9, 2005 by Xany Quote
