demuire Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 No one would insure my KE35 apart from Just Cars and Shannons. Both are very very expensive. Quote
lyonsy Posted January 5, 2005 Author Report Posted January 5, 2005 well i found an engineer but havet been able to catch him yet which will cost $600 total accord into my mate so when i read an engineer's report how do i read it ie how do i tel when something has been approved even though its a sa one should be pretty in vic id say but mabey a few little things? mark Quote
Super Jamie Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 when registering a modified car between states, you need to re-engineer the car to make sure it complies with the state rules, so don't bother engineering it in SA then shipping it over to Vic. different engineers charge different rates depending on the guy and the job at hand so just call your local and get a solid price Quote
demuire Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 Out of interest I had a look at my insurance cert last night and if I'm not mistaken my car is insured full comp for $700 a year, valued at about $5K? Or maybe it was $7K. Something very low like that. Quote
Super Jamie Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 and you probably won't get all of it anyway, market value on all of our cars is lucky to exceed $2500 Quote
Redwarf Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 760kg is the official weight. Realistically they're about 820 to 840 kg unmodified. Dwarf weighed in at Rally of Q at 863kg, with half a tank of fuel. Quote
pro_ke Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 jamie - note 'engineering' in SA occurs after you get a defect and put a fresh set of plates on :D:D Quote

Black Dragon Posted July 10, 2005 Report Posted July 10, 2005 Many will doubt the 4A-C as they see it as being a Carb Fed Single Cam and this there is no hope of ever getting decent power out of this engine.........WRONG! A couple of years ago I had an AE82 with a 4A-C which after some very easy work was able to hammer a mildly worked 4A-G Twin Cam. In alot of cases it was able to beat most commodores up to the VN era even worked VK's. The best thing I loved about the AE82 is that nobody suspected it to go as fast as it did as I kept the standard mags on it and made it look standard (so the police wouldn't pull me over all the time). I would still have this car today if a commodore didn't drive up the bonnet as I was crossing an intersection going into work!! You can't win them all..... Quote
