JiP Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 Could be your master cylinder. It's happened to before. Try pulling your choke out when slowing down. It won't fix it but it will stop it from stalling until you get it fixed. Quote
Rollaboy2608 Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 check needle and seat, easy to do, costs a few bucks, also check for vacuum leaks Quote
Clapped out Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 95% sure its your timing! cheers phatke30! Quote
Matt-e30 Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 95% sure its your timing! cheers phatke30! yeah i was going to say so too.. also check the point on the dizzy are clean and the button is in good order.. used to have a pulsar that did the same thing would drive reasonably well (well for a nissan anyway :sob: ) then when backing off the go pedal and down gearing it would usually stall, looked at the timing seemed to be fine .. points well all good but the button had built up S**t on it so cleaned it up and she went fine.... anastasios Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 yep check your carby, like rebuild it, i just put different points, redid all the vacuum hoses and timing and it still stalls, so ill probably be rebuilding it Quote
coln72 Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 Cheap and nasty, swap number 2 & 3 plug leads, hold foot flat and turn the key. The back firing usually cleans any shit out of the carby. Just remember to remove your aircleaner as it might catch on fire........... If this doesn't fix it do the above. Quote
Chet Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 check your vacuum hose, and other various hoses in your engine bay, make sure they all connected.. normally one comes undone and it happens to me. alternativly, get it performance tuned, if its something to do with the carby.. Quote
cashie Posted March 21, 2008 Author Report Posted March 21, 2008 thanks guys hopefully i will get a chance to check it out over the long weekend i will keep everyone posted cheers nathan Quote
DearmanKE Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 my ke30 was doin this, turned out the pcv valve hose had come off the carby, jsut popped it back on n was all sweet my 70 also had a really rough idle and would sumtimes do this, i timed it the other day and it too is now running sweet, tho can be abit choppy sumtimes i think i have to clean the carby but yeah, vacuum hoses and timeing first as its easy, Quote
