I'm trying to figure out if the E(ground) is part of the F & N molex connector, or if the alternator grounds itself via the bolt to the block. I have the stock conncetor, but its so old and cruddy that I can't tell if it has a third wire that was sheared off. The molex connector I did pick up is for GM cars, but its only a two prong connector and not a third. Funny thing is it fits perfectly into the alternator. Stock is on left. Stock connector fitted to alt. You can see the E male spade rests against the stock connector. If I rotate the molex 180, it won't insert completely into the alt. New connector fitted to alt.. So this makes me wonder if there is a ground wire from the alt. at all. If there is indeed a third wire that needs to be connects, no one here in the states(that I can find anyway) sells a replacement 3-prong molex connector, so I was planning on just using a female spade connector with a #10 to the block. **Edit** Just found a three prong molex connector... new question... Where does this ground to? The wiring diagram just shows and earth ground, but does anyone know at what point it actually grounds to?
