HRV-00S Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Hey guys, As some will know I've just brought a small port dizzy instead of a big port unit for my 4agte. But I have been tood a couple of times now that the small port dizzy has 4 wires and the big port only 3, but my old dizzy has 4 wires as well. So how many different dizzy's are there, could it be a gze dizzy? Anyway, What I was thinking and I have been searching, was to use the small port dizzy as a CAS and run multiple coil packs. Just wondering whats involved/needed. I'm running an Autronic ecu so that shouldn't be a problem The dizzy has 24+1 teeth like below Any info, ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Dan Quote
Des Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 4AGZE crank angle sensor. 4AGZE coil packs. The only 4AGZE that had a dizzy was AW11 versions. I think my bigport dizzy has 4 wires. Will check in the day light. Quote
HRV-00S Posted March 16, 2008 Author Report Posted March 16, 2008 Thanks mate, I was having a read of this thread here and was wondering if anyone had some more info on whats involved ie: small port dizzy as a cam angle sensor and LS1 coils (built in igniters) I'm gonna have a chat with my mechanic/tuner this week if I get a chance, see what he recons about it. I no theres at least one person thats done it :hmm: Cheers Dan Quote
beerhead Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 You can use any 4AGE dizzy with most aftermarket ECU's, in full sequential, wasted spark or single coil, its all about how you configure the ecu and which one you use. The only difference between a 4AGZE CAS and a 100kw dizzy is the top cover and the plug. Autronic's are a great ecu, you'll have enough igniter control to go full sequential on the ignition. The neatest way by far is using COP (Coil over plug) coils of a 1ZZ toyota corolla, they look neat as when installed, and end up saving you money because you won't need any custom leads what so ever. cuzzo Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 The plug is the same from the 100kw dizzy and GZE CAS Quote
towe001 Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 The coil pack from a 1ggze fits as well So says Bill Sherwood Quote
