KE30_KE35_KE55 Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 What are you guys paying for LPG down there... its so expensive up here its negates the cost-saving aspect of converting... I bought the car for $500 with a 4 year old conversion, I have noticed the price of LPG creeping up, its been a while between fills but i think its around 65c per litre Quote
1984KE70 Posted March 16, 2008 Author Report Posted March 16, 2008 I nearly got 500kms out of a tank...I didn't wanna risk running out so i topped up lol..So i reckon thats pretty good! Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 My 20 valve got 425klm off of 32 litres while highway driving last week, which I thought to be very good for an after market ecu tune. If I make it fun like Ill get 480-500klms from 45 litres before fuel surge kicks in. I guess thats 10-11 klm/litre if I'm enjoying myself, or 13 if I put around. I'm ultra conscious of fuel consumption and mileage traveled as I have neither an odometer or fuel gauge. I'm at the point now where I just get a feeling I need to fill up. When my car was running but not properly tuned I got 300klms from 45 litres. Quote
Kid-Ae Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 I'm getting 510km out of 45ltr of fuel in a ke38, thats pretty good with a huge toolbox and about 150kgs of tools in the back. thats with using the right foot pretty hard, too. I'm using lead additive but I'm not sure if i need too? Quote

graham7773 Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 7shades, I told you it was a long drive to Cairns. you should try importing your gas from Japan, it is closer than Bass Straight isn't it? They (the Japs) are buying lpg from us for 9 cents a litre and we are paying up to 79 cents a litre at the servo. GRRRRR. :hmm: Are we suckers or what? Quote
Jono Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 we get 500 - 550 kms to a 45L tank in the ae112r (2001) i got 530kms from a 65L tank in the rzn149r (2003) which i just got last friday (beast) not sure of the kms i get from the ke20 but i'm switching back to the KMH dash and changing cogs on the speedo cable so i should be able to get a more accurate figure. Hiro Protagonist Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 The KE55 used to get around 8-10L/100km, which would equal roughly 500-600km/tank, but the fuel gauge never worked properly so it was always done on kms travelled. The AE102, highly dependent on my right foot, varies between 6.5-10L/100km. Most I've ever gotten out of a tank was 800km, which surprised me because that was on a cruise to Bathurst, including a few heated laps. The AE82 is currently getting around 7-8L/100km, doesn't have the torque that the 7A does so it needs more revs to do the same stuff, therefore more fuel. Quote
KE70-from-mt-panorama Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 I'm Getting roughly 200 miles (320km) to the tank but not 100% sure on size of tank. I think its about 35-40L with a 3k stock as a rock. But then when i drove it home from wollongong when i bought it i got back to bathurst on 1/2 a tank. Depends on the driving conditions Cheers Quote
tas_ae71 Posted March 18, 2008 Report Posted March 18, 2008 a few weeks ago i had to go threw about 300km's of mostly winding roads and hills etc and when i stopped to fill up it took about 20L, thats with an exhaust and weber on a 4ac. with the new cam I'm using seem to be using alot more, as you need more revs and a lower gear to get the thing to move. got 220km (highway) from about half a tank.
