well, by that logic, why didnt my car get hot when it was flat blue then? paint finish shouldnt have very much to do with it at all, black and dark colours absorb heat, white and lighter colours reflect it.

either way, look at mercedes golden yellow, theres a guy on here or ae86dc with a ke70 in that colour, looks hot as, or drop by your local european (VW, mercedes, bmw, volvo, audi etc) and get a few brochures with colour samples and go off that. I find that euro stuff has nicer colours, yank stuff (including for and holden) has bright stuff and jap colours suck (excluding subaru, honda and some nissan). I just feel that the jap colours tend to be missing something, can't put my finger on what it is, just my opinion.

You're correct about colour and heat, but paint finish does have quite a lot to do with it as well. Sunlight is radiation, and heat is only generated when that radiation is absorbed by something. Having a more reflective finish bounces more of the radiation off, ergo, less heat. Having a nice thick clearcoat and a metallic finish makes a world of difference. My Suzukis were flat white and metallic black... probably why there wasn't much difference between them.

I would NOT like to own a matt black car up here.

hey everyone thanks for your input, greatly appreciated :hmm: i've chosen my colour, its going to be pearl white with a light bluish reflection in the sun. It would also save me the trouble by not have to paint inside doors and engine bay since car is already white. Also chose i over black, coz i remember when my mate had his black r32, some wanka keyd it and u could see it from a mile away, lol i don't want that happenin to my car. also imperfection wont be as notcible as on a pearl white as opposed to a black paint job. the bad news is i gotta wait a couple of months for the paint job now, my uncle whose doing the painting in his garage said it was getting cooler and it would be beta to wait for the hott hott days to come back round to get a good paint job result. after all, spending all that money, wouldnt want it to turn out shit. anyway thanks again
