Painting Fan Wheels??

Hi all , I was wondering if anyone could tell me :

A; if it is possible to paint those little wheels that your fan belts go on, so fan wheels I guess haha.

B; if it is possible how do i take them off?? will i lose timing or anything??

Yes you can paint it, and no you wont lose your timing.

 

You'll need to loosen the fan belt to take it off. This is done by loosening the bolt on the top of the alternator. When you put it back together, you need to make sure you get the belt nice and tight by levering the alternator out with a long bar while you tighten the bolt up again.

they would be your pulleys and you shouldnt loose timing!! that would look pretty good any idea of a colour yet?

Make sure to tape up the inside groove when painting the pully otherwise the belt may have tendency to slip.

Though if you do paint that area i think after a couple of km's the paint within the goove will peel off because of the constant rubbing, so better of covering it up anyway.

use enamel paint acrylic isn't as versatile as enamel paint on heated areas and will wear off quicker.

cheers guys, yeah I'm gonna paint them the same metallic blue as my rocker cover hopefully will have sum pics up soon...
