7shades Posted February 21, 2008 Author Report Posted February 21, 2008 ok... so I went to the USS auction in Chiba today. Holy shit. I mean like, holy shit. I knew there would be some cool stuff there, but I don't think I was quite prepared for the scale of it... its huuuge... just monsterously huge... and the cars...dear sweet Jesus there were some cool cars. And not just Japanese stuff either. You name it, it was there, for sale. I felt like a 10 year old again... running around like an idiot, pointing and squealing and dragging my long suffering (and only mildly interested) girlfriend with me as I skipped merrily amongst the rows and rows of shiny machinery... all 2 kilometers of them. I'm knackered. Utterly knackered. I must have jogged about 20ks today... oh and it was about 4 degrees C... plus windchill. I think bits of me a frozen and dead and may never function again. But thats ok, cos I think I found my Chaser :P:D:D:D:D I'll let the pics do the talking. I have video too, but I left the upload cable in another continent so I'll deal with that when I get home. *Phew* Quote
7shades Posted February 21, 2008 Author Report Posted February 21, 2008 (edited) The main auction room... 10 lanes running simultaneously The yard... well, a tiny portion of it anyway I have a zillion pics of the cars themselves, and I can't be bothered labelling them. So here goes... Merc Lorinser. These bad boys are rare even in Europe... Rusty Hachi Edited February 21, 2008 by 7shades Quote

7shades Posted February 21, 2008 Author Report Posted February 21, 2008 Oh and if you happen to like GTRs, take your pick... Or perhaps your tastes are slightly more exotic. No problem... Maybach? This is without a doubt the BIGGEST, LONGEST car I have ever seen that isn't a stretch limo. It was open too... comfy :P Quote
7shades Posted February 21, 2008 Author Report Posted February 21, 2008 Surprising amount of american gear getting around Japan, old and new... one wonders WHY when the local product is so much better, I guess its a case of trying to be a bit different in a land of overwhelming same-sameness. 4WDs a plenty... Ground clearance much? Quote
7shades Posted February 21, 2008 Author Report Posted February 21, 2008 (edited) Not many corollas, surprisingly. Most were just bog stock commuters or load runners anyway... Oh and I did pick up a little something for myself, a small trinket to remind me of my day at the auctions... And that was my day today :P Hope you enjoyed sharing it with me  Edited February 21, 2008 by 7shades Quote
