kangaroosa Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 Wow.....such a well worded and professional email from a high profile organisation. Do they think people are that bloody stupid to believe that? I get at least one a week from a well known bank saying i have to reply or my account will be closed.......too bad i don't have any dealings with the bank in question.
Medicine_Man Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 who is seriously stupid enough to foward this bullshit spam on? honestly, how is msn going to know you have fowarded it, seriously think about it...
KE30_KE35_KE55 Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 who is seriously stupid enough to foward this bullshit spam on? honestly, how is msn going to know you have fowarded it, seriously think about it... The BBC link is talking about a totally different subject "MSN 'to charge user fee'" John I think its spam mate.

kangaroosa Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 The BBC link is talking about a totally different subject "MSN 'to charge user fee'" John I think its spam mate. To be honest i didnt even click the link. I'm glad i didnt waste my time either.
Toy-Yoda[RL] Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 I got that message a few months ago, instantly thought "spam". I did nothing, guess what? no changes........... Problem solvered........
Medicine_Man Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 The main problem is the masses are too stupid to think for themselves and continue to foward this shit..
Hiro Protagonist Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 Also note that the news article on the BBC website (if it's the same one, they usually link to the same article) is several years old now.
Nitephyre Posted February 17, 2008 Report Posted February 17, 2008 The Masses need to grow a brain. The spam problem wouldn't be as big if it wasn't for The Masses :/
Jason Posted February 17, 2008 Report Posted February 17, 2008 The problem is 10-12yr olds and read it and go ZOMGMYGWAD!!!!! HOTMAIL SHUTTING DOWN

So, within a month's time, anyone who does not receive this email with the exact subject heading, will be deleted off our server. Please forward this email so that we know you are still using this account. WARNING WARNING We want to find out which users are actually using their Hotmail accounts. So if you are using your account, please pass this e-mail to every Hotmail user that you can and if you do not pass this letter to anyone we will delete your account. From Mr. Jon Henerd Hotmail Admin. Dept. Our hotmail system is getting tocrowded!! We need you to forward this to at least 20 people. I knowthis seems like a large number, but we need to find out who is reallyusing their account. If you do not send this to at least 10 Hotmail members, we will delete your account. Sorry for this inconvenience. Sincerely, Director of Hotmail Services Aaron Lopez Please do this! Some of my friends have already gotten deleted and you aren't allowed tosend it back to the person who sent this email to you!!!} what a load of bull shit
Hiro Protagonist Posted February 17, 2008 Report Posted February 17, 2008 The really stupid thing is that people don't realise that Hotmail automatically know your account is active simply by you logging in.....Why the hell would they need you to circulate a chain-mail for them to know you're active? Some people just don't think
philbey Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 i've been getting these emails for 10 years.... There's also the one about "Bill will give you moneyfor every hotmail user you forward this email too" I've also seen a few of the nigerian bank scam ones: They need to store their surplus money in your account for a while, so you pay 10 grand in processing fees and they drop a casual million in there for a few months I always thought that theres no way anyone would be that stupid - until I saw the 60 minute article on the scamss. Turns out theres hundreds of cases of Aussies going totally broke because they got greedy. suckers - you want to get rich, you work for it.
