BVD Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 Hi All, depserately need some help. I'm only new to this forum and new to the corolla way of life. We have just bought a 92 model AE94 Corolla Seca Auto. Since day one it has had a slight miss at idle, we put new plugs, leads, distribuor cap and rotor button on and it diddnt help. We sent it back to the car yard they have since fitted a new coil, changed the dizzy run tests and even had it on a dyno. Every test comes up that it has no problems but as soon as it sits idling you can hear it missing. it is only a slight miss, but it is there. It is starting to drive us around the bend, we have owned it 2 weeks, and it has been at the car yard for 4 of those das and they are no closer to finding an answer. Does any one have any ideas as to what the possible problem could be?? Cheers Quote
BVD Posted February 13, 2008 Author Report Posted February 13, 2008 Thanks for the quick reply Exhaust is all good Quote
Des Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 (edited) Using water ? Radiator water bubble when its sitting still missing ? Steam out of the oil cap just after its been stopped, When warm ? Could be a small leak in the head gasket causing the miss. Edited February 13, 2008 by AE70 Quote
BVD Posted February 13, 2008 Author Report Posted February 13, 2008 (edited) Not loosing water, or bubbling away. we changed the oil on the weekend and it looked pretty good. It doesnt always miss, and generally doesnt do it until it warms up Edited February 13, 2008 by BVD Quote

Felix Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 Have you done an ECU error code check? You may have a bad injector. Quote

BVD Posted February 15, 2008 Author Report Posted February 15, 2008 Thanks for everybodys help, Car yard sorted it out in the end, they just starting replacing the electrical components till it was running properly. I asked him what he ended up having to replace and he just said F@@@@@@ everything! I don't think he was too happy. But now it is going really well so we are happy. Just glad they had to fix it under the warranty. Quote

I agree 100%. He wonders why i said his mechanic was an idiot, I would say that they made a pretty big loss on the car though, they stuffed around with it for three days. Bloody idiot covered it in grease though, had to clean all the finger prints off it when we got it back. Quote

Also won't help when it happens again out of warranty, replacing everything electrical is a lot of different possibilities  Quote
