Nitephyre Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 THAT IS f@$kING HOT And is that a transmission tunnel I can see? o.O Quote
Azza Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 Guys, as I mentioned in an earlier post, Bill is a mate of mine, and I can vouch for the quality of this build. It was not an overnight job, and was not without the usual delays in this sort of thing (I think he got sick of us asking how it was going) THe ride in this car if awesome and the machine has some serious power. Fully loaded with passengers, it was lethal..... Quote
7shades Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 Next modification I would like to see photographs of is the addition of two more drive wheels, preferably at the rear. Please, ta. Quote
Jono Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 +1 for 4wd conversion. 21psi & that much power at the front wheels only doesn't do it for me. Quote
xoom Posted February 11, 2008 Author Report Posted February 11, 2008 (edited) Now kiddies, THAT is how you do it. No bullshitting around with half-arsed ghetto jobs... quality gear, appropriate mods, and STEALTH.I like this thing. Yep. That's the shit we're talking about, Australia. I started off thinking "Another tool who's thrown something together from 100 yards, and now waiting for it to go bang." But am now very pleasantly surprised. As Mr Shades stated above, that's how you do it. Look and learn people. :hmm: Thanks guys for the kind word ..... Love how u started ur post redwarf ..... lol :) This thing is HOT, well done buddy....Just a question what was the news papers hiding if anything?? :y: :hmm: LOL .... nothing mate .... needed a paper with date for pics for the insurance company Hi mate, love your car mate its quality all the way . I was at that photo shoot recently at rose hill with my Ke30 corolla, i wanted to have a closer look at your ride as sleepers get me excited but didn't get a chance to come say hi. I was also at toy mods show a few months back were i first saw your car . What turbo are you running as it looks similar to my GT28/71R ? If your keen to come to this upcoming cruze ive organised to terrigal on march 9th, it would be great to have you there . :y: yep was @ the shoot & yep was @ toyotafest ....... its a GT2871R ...... ill keep u post regarding march 9th as i might have something on .... will know closer to the date. NICE. Like the work. Can I ask who does your nickel/chrome plating on your exhaust mani? And please don't say chrome in a can did it..LOL Also with the heat shielding DON'T if it is the real shit breath the dust that is inside it when you cut it up..LOL It is asbestos in the real shit just don't want to see you fall over dead young when you have this to enjoy..LOL BUT AGAIN NICE Cameron hahahahaha chrome in a can :P ..... nah seriously its HPC coated ..... probably should have got the black stuff but oh well was to late that they had done it already ..... the heat shielding appears to be the proper stuff ..... its what fabre australia use on their drag cars ..... i can't remember what brand it was .... supposedly good for 900 degree's C ..... thought we'd chuck it in there for precautionary purposes as it does get damn hot ..... Guys, as I mentioned in an earlier post, Bill is a mate of mine, and I can vouch for the quality of this build. It was not an overnight job, and was not without the usual delays in this sort of thing (I think he got sick of us asking how it was going) THe ride in this car if awesome and the machine has some serious power. Fully loaded with passengers, it was lethal..... lol ..... thanks A man ..... yeah u were starting to get on my nerves asking, calling, sms'ing every damn day :P :P : ..... as it has been 4 yrs to the day from wen i bought the first part n kicked this project off i think. Oh and A man .... its quicker now than it was before ;) ;) ;) ..... was good to have u 4 fellas in the car for traction purposes |blink| ;) Next modification I would like to see photographs of is the addition of two more drive wheels, preferably at the rear. Please, ta. +1 for 4wd conversion. 21psi & that much power at the front wheels only doesn't do it for me. LOL ..... well i have glanced @ this modification once or twice ...... and as it stands the GT4 setup is an option however from what i have been advised the cutting required to support this running gear will render the car non-road worthy ..... or i can go the 4wd which is out of japan in the fiedler or axio ....the only problem there is that particular 4wd setup i dunno how much of a beating it can take since its not a "performance" setup like the GT4 and the GT4 setup will render the car unregisterable .... ahhhh the dilemmas .... lol ..... i havent looked into the sr5 setup at all from the older rolla wagons .... could also b an option ..... Also since ive only just managed to get the car running and back on the road properly i might want to enjoy it for a bit before going back for more workshop down time .... however the suggestion has been noted and ill probably spend some time this year looking into it a bit more doing a whole lot more research ;) ;) Edited February 11, 2008 by xoom Quote
7shades Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 Good man. Carry on.... |blink| Quote

Azza Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 Thats sounds like Mark in the water at Darlington Park, QLD Quote
xoom Posted June 18, 2008 Author Report Posted June 18, 2008 (edited) yep that wasnt me who went into the water ..... lol ..... was pretty cool of mark to share his mis-fortune for other to have a laugh well fellas as u will see in the pic below i think i found the limitations of the exedy HD clutch ...... guessing by the cracks appearing on the left this simply progressed over time and probably started from the drag day i went to with the turbo on then the last drag day where i got 6 clean runs on current power ..... lol ...... hence the snapping of the one on the right ...... anyway the extra heavy duty stuff (2000+ pounds of clamping force) from the US is in and running and i've run it in so it will be getting its work out next week @ WSID .... OMG it was a heavy b'astard when i first drove it out of the workshop Edited August 26, 2017 by xoom Quote
