Murd 55 Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 i only fill up every 1-2 weeks. lol but i try to avoid it being the $1.50 a litre days. try to stick to the 1.25 1.30 ... but the days very at times. and if u need petrol well what you gonna do! Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 What a naive idea. Nothing good can possibly come of this. Sounds like some idealistic tripe thought up by some 12 year old wannabe activists who havent yet grasped any concepts of economics. Ill be sure and fill up all 3 cars on the day. Quote
JiP Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 Oh I remember the good old days. 70-80 cents was a good price. We will never see it under $1 again. Quote
7shades Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 ok I'll show my age... Many moons ago we used to have a Daihatsu Mira as our 'backup car' in the share house I was living in.... We used to see who could run it closest to empty so we could try and fit 20 bucks worth in the tank :) I think juice was about 55-60cpl then Quote

I was a console operator a few years back for caltex and i remember one guy comin in and chucking a shit cause fuel had just been hitting the 90c mark, Wonder what he does today. Quote
towe001 Posted February 9, 2008 Report Posted February 9, 2008 It could work, If everyone had 6 cars like me, and If all had fuel, No one would fill up for 6 weeks or so. Then they'd choke. No, they would just close their doors to us and we wouldn't get any fuel, except for what we made in the backyard (Bio-diesel). And the government wouldn't have a leg to stand on. Just like at the moment, cause the fuel companies have what we need/depend on and if the fuel companies close their doors to us this country will wind up dieing cause we all depend on fuel in one way or other just to get through each day of the week. ok I'll show my age... ke10rolla Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 the cheapes i remeber it being was around 60 cents a litre..mum used to carry on like a crumbed sausage when it was that price..i saw fuel for 1.04 the other day at caltex at carseldine in brisbane Quote
WinKE55 Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 Everyone would need to stop fueling there cars for a few weeks for it to take effect. It sounds good and all but eh. Supply and Demand. Quote
towe001 Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 It's all well and good but sit back and think about it. The fuel companies have the monopoly on what we demand, we can't get it from anybody else...... Quote
