Good score Ashie! Gotta love your grandma for that

Reminds me of my old orange one, but slightly better condition.

definitely enter Bay To Birdwood, my KE20 will be there as will about 8 other Corollas.

What plans do you have for her?

Cheers, Ben.

hey benzo, yeah my gran is the bomb, she's always asking me how its going. ive had her just over a year now but have been driving her since i was 16

ive been holding out for bay to birdwood since the last classic, wish id entered her then. would be great to see your 20's and other rollas.

i have a friend who is getting a 55 and is gonna have to decide whether to take that or his gemini in it... i say rolla all the way :hmm:

my plans her her are (in no particular order)

new carpet

have seat seams restitched

get all the dents and rust outa her

then obviously a re-spray in the same colour

fix the boot, she was rear-ended at some stage.. my gran had a habit of stopping suddenly

replace all the door, boot and windscreen seals.

clean up the engine and make sure they are all toyota parts.

my friend also suggests i fix the steering as i have a massive dead spot.

I'm also keen to get my hands on some blinds for the rear window, got any idea where i could get them from?

Ashie, love that little 20 of yours. Whereabouts in the hills are you? Tea Tree Gully way or more towards Blackwood? Will look forward to watching you restore her. Welcome to the family  We'll have to do a cruise sometime with all the ke2# in Adelaide.

Hey Will. Just found out that you go to school with my little brother-in-law, Perry.

lol, I heard about this  some do need to be knocked down a peg though.

I've seen a car almost exactly like Ashie's mear Marden, but with venetians, looked good. pity my 55 fell through, now driving a $150 laser lol, but ash I'll see if I can get a day permit for the TX to go on the Bay to Birdwood, the TE's too young I think, 1981?

My mate said doing the steering box in the KE20 would be fairly easy if you wanted to DIY. lol I can't believe how used to it you are though, I think I'd be hopeless.

Is there anything you want from u pull it? If they have any 20's that is.. I might do a trip soon [money pending] to get some stupid parts for the laser hahaha

HAHAHAHA laser :D

and yes i am so used to the dead spot... never driver her without it. i should let you drive her sometime. and if your going to u pull it let me know and ill tagg on, if thats ok (money permitting also) which one do you do to? not that ill find much i never do, not many ke20.

btw 81 is too young. i think its 50's to 70's but not sure of the exact dates, i just know sad makes the grade :D

oh and queen20v, i live near stirling :'( and i think a rolla cruise would be great, last cruise i went on was a mopar in hmm 08 maybe, so something that uses less petrol would be nice :D

i was so excited when i got back from europe on wednesday, i wanted to drive so badly... until i got home and fell asleep. so first thing thursday i decided to wash her, well that was just great :abuse: no sooner had i started washing her, the rain started :abuse:

South, there's never any Gems at North and it's too far away. Course I wouldn't mind you tagging along, don't forget to wear your car clothes  Oh, can't wait to see the new cut and polish!

I just looked up the Classic Adelaide, apparently it's a bit harder to enter than I'd thought. Most of the classes state that the cars can't be modified (I'm out due to engine swap, exhaust and springs) cars upto 1990 can enter with some newer cars accepted too.. but they say you need past motor sport history, fire extinguishers, helmets etc  nuts... And it sounds expensive.

But the Bay to Birdwood is for cars upto 1977, will be late sept, but you have to obey road rules (no speeding etc ) but it says nothing about modified cars. Only question now is how much :D

Bay to Birdwood this year will be cars up to September 1979 which I think sucks as imo most cars in 1979 even 1978 are not classics

Entry was about $80 from memory, it should be on the birdwood motor museum site

also I don't know why you would want to enter Classic Adelaide, its a road rally, not a cruise. A friend of the family does it every year (along with Targa Tasmania etc) in either his worked NSX or one of his other cars. relatively expensive and competitive. Not worth it for a stock KE20 or Gemini lol

Cheers, Ben.
