harun Posted January 31, 2008 Report Posted January 31, 2008 How much of the 3k head do you have to shave down to get 10:1 compression? Quote
Clapped out Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 One would think not too much, maybe ask an engine reconditioners? Quote
TRD ke70 Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 you need to CC the head as well as a cylinder, depends on what size bore. Quote

Anything is possible, the impossible just takes a bit longer. I am sure they are the same. Quote
camerondownunder88 Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 yes can use later ke70 valve guides ETC in a 3K head easy fit they fall straight in. Quote
old_skool_SR Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 (edited) doesnt a 3k-B engine already has a 9.1:1 or something compression?. I'm really not sure though... read it somewhere, cos i have a 3k-b in my ke35. Edited February 8, 2008 by old_skool_SR Quote
Taz_Rx Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 Well if a stock 5k has 9.3:1 (IIRC) then I would hardly call 9.1:1 "high". "High" compression doesn't start till atleast 10:1 if you ask me! :) Quote
old_skool_SR Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 oops, sorry. yeah, i think 10 is the basis for high. ill edit it now. :) Quote
