1ggte or 1ggtte? ie is it single or twin turbs?

If twins, chuck both CT12's on the 7k, and it'll go off its head. Will have torque out its arse too!! I nearly did it on a 4k. |blink|

Yeah they are 1ggtte's.

hmmm twin turbo on a 7k?

would need solid lifters??

that plus a supercharger??

plus cam grind... lookin at what power??

somethin stupid!!??

Motor wouldn't last!

about 200 or so Hp or more??

Depends how much boost you wanna pump into her!! :sob:

Yeah 7ktte :P

Solids are not essential.

No, just the twins, they're torquey little things, would "spool up" nearly as quick as the blower anyway.

I'd seriously consider leaving the stock cam, if not something very mild.

K's are indestructable,....don't be a sook!! :y:

I'd say 200hp wouldn't be to unreasonable on a mild tune!!

There's not too much around in the way of worked 7k for a reference.......be the first!! :S

thats the idea.

my mate has tols me though that he won't split the motors up for turbos.

but he does have an RB20 turbo i can buy.

My plans are..

supercharge or turbo whichever comes along first or better...

cam grind

chrome rings

double valve springs

thats as far as i've gotten but i'm open to more suggestions.

I wrote a HOW TO on fuel systems in the generally mechanical section last month. It has been stickey'd below the KExx, AExx etc sections. :y:

Just buy a whole 1g if you have to. whip the turbo off it and sell the pistons and rods to somebody rebuilding a 4k.

Yes they fit, do a search on it. :S

Ok.. long time.

Car now dead.

Time for 7k i believe.

SC.

Had a thought though!

7k runs a high compression ratio.

with supercharge i'd only be bale to run about 2-3 psi reliably!

Soooo i was thinking..(it hurts)

What about oing a straight gas conversion?

this lowers the compression but still gives you same power!

then i can SC and run a heap of boost reliably!

Please thoughts?

Hey all.

ummm been discussing what to do to my 7K when it comes....

and the general consensus is that supercharging will be better?

now i've read that 7K's don't like revving?

is this because of hydrolic lifters?

thoghts anyone?

turbo or SC?

Not quite: Compression remains the same, but you can run LPG At a higher compression ratio than petrol. I have considered LPG in the past, but once you start looking into it, theres a whole lot of stuff to do all with dollar tags.

There used to be a supercharged LPG 5k getting around melbourne though, so its definitely acheivable.

Just pull the slugs out, get them dished, whack em in at lower comp and off you go. Go for medium compression (9ish) and medium boost, game on!

Water methanol injection is for real. Good stuff.

And easy to make a DIY setup or buy one if needed.

Also I havent really looked at a 7K before but I think it has the same stroke as a 5K. IF it is the same stroke use 4agze conrods. They are a bit shorter than 5K items and forged :abuse: So strong rods will jsut drop compression DONE :owned:
