Watched the whole 2007 top gear series on the weekend....all 10 hours of it! |blink|

.....and they did a story on this car......

...... http://youtube.com/watch?v=mCxdzP76ILg

The bit that has been chopped off the end of that video, was back in the studio when they talk about the time it did.....and yes the Stig can drive it well, unlike Jeremy!!

Currently on the top of the list is the "konnnnnisssssigggg (with top gear wing)" with a 1:17

The Caparo did it in a 1:10.....blowing everything else on the board out of the water!!!! :nervous:

But it was then very quickly removed from the board as it won't get over a speed bump - Being the top gear "road usable" road car rule!

yeah i did see that, tragic loss.

he raced the toyota funny car too.

i don't think they should've been racing top fuel cars on that track though, because when you look at the video, the track has a bloody concrete wall at the end of it!!! wheres the freakin sense in that?? no dirt run-off or catch net, hay bails or anything.

RIP scott kalita

Aparently there has now been to rule changes for top fuel in NHRA due to this accident:

1, Parachute release swtches must not be mounted to the fibreglass body of the car, but to the roll cage or something else solid. When the body flew off Scotts car it took this release with it so he couldn't deploy the shoots!!!

2, The "1/4 mile" for top fuel is being reduced from 1320 feet to 1000 feet. More info here......

and to quote somebody from ar.com....

......I LIVE MY LIFE 94697/500000 mile at a time.......for those 10 seconds or less.... :(
