Redwarf Posted November 28, 2004 Report Posted November 28, 2004 It also ended up with my electric fuel pump on the weekend, too. *cough* Sorry.... :insane: Quote
irokin Posted November 28, 2004 Report Posted November 28, 2004 Is it legal to run methanol in a street car yet?? I too have collets :insane: Quote
kiwi Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 NO ITS ILLEGALL NOW A DAYS TO RUN ANYTHING AFTERMARKET, bloody transport, as i just found out $800 worth of fines later, bastards, they want us to drive around in those plastic bluddy cars...................... :doublebird: Quote
demuire Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 Aftermarket ECU's (or I should say programmable ECU's) have been illegal for a long time now. They can be engineered, but in order to do that they have to be programmed, sent for emissions testing and if it passes then the setting has to be "locked" so that it can't be further programmed. irokin Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 Just don't advertise the fact. don't have stickers yada yada yada as i just found out $800 worth of fines later sorry but ignorance of the law is no excuse Quote
Redwarf Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 Ha, now who's laughing at my Webers!! :doublebird: (Not that I think they're real emissions friendly) Quote
rusty_starlet Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 no, other way round. stick the normal head on the dished bottom end and you have around 7.5:1....perfect for forced induction. any idea what kind of compression i'll get if i put a 3k-b head on a 4k block that is from an auto? i'd hate to have gone and spent the money on a cam and 3k-b to fit my twin carbs then find i have 11.5:1 or 7.5:1 compression. Quote
Felix Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 if it was about 10:1 on a 3k-b, the same head will be about 11:1 on a flat top pistoned 4k. Quote
Super Jamie Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 talk about back from the dead Quote
Xany Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 should i bring out the pic.....bugger it why not. Quote

rusty_starlet Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 oops sorry for the double post.. my computer hates me and is trying to get me in trouble. and it's going to get a spanking after this. oh ok thanks. so will the 4k-c that the auto came from will have the dished pistons yes? so will the pistons in it be dished to make less compression? or dome pistons to make more? Quote
Felix Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 will the 4k-c that the auto came from will have the dished pistons yes? no, only 4k-e and 4k-u have them. they are import engines. or dome pistons to make more? no such think in k engines. all flat tops apart from above mentioned engines and 5ks. the lower compression 4k-c have a larger combustion chamber for their lower compression ratio.
