Robert Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 (edited) Personally, for me, 15 inch is the pimp size wheel for my ae71. I really like the feel of the rolling diameter on the car. Even slightly bigger feels like its too big for the chassis. I have enough sidewall to attain a little grip, and tyres are inexpensive. The only reason I would ever want bigger is if I had a brake upgrade which required 16s. At the end of the day I like to be period specific with my dress on the car. I'm not a neons and subwoofers kind of guy. I really don't get the big chrome wheels thing. Chrome bumpers on the other hand... That said, their are a few cars around with slick, loud bodywork and the chrome wheels have worked for them. Couldnt have said it better, at least you explained the reason for not running massive chromies instead of just saying "get 14x10s" :hmm: respect for that post :2thumbs: Edited January 22, 2008 by Robert Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 just wondering why you would put 17s on a ke70 :hmm: Because he wants to put 17 inch rims on his f@$kin KE70....that's all the reason you need, if you don't have something relevant to post...why post at all? Why did you join RC as Nickyboy? Why did you get up this morning? Don't ask stupid questions unless you want stupid answers. just don't bother Just don't bother posting. Negative bullshit like that isn't helping anything. Closed minded arrogant f@$kwit comments like this piss me off...different people have different tastes...if he wants to put 17's on his f@$kin KE70....he can. I think 14inch mags are a complete waste of time, 15's or bigger are what "I" like the look of, but I don't pick you to pieces when you buy 14 inch mags and put them on your car...Try not being so closed minded....like was already said, this is 2008, not 1980...if you can't adapt...stay in your holes. Go Rolla Boy ! I'm sure you have spoken for alot of people. Respecta :D Also i reckon chromies suck and when i said big rims i meant jap style or colour coded with big dish, they have to have some style and suit the car aswell, but each to their own. Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted January 23, 2008 Report Posted January 23, 2008 Everybody has an opinion, so please don't shout down other members for expressing a different opinion. Bad form, lets all remain calm. You like big wheels, yahoo for you. Others don't, thats perfectly fine, deal with it hombres. If someone tells you they don't like something, thats always going to be negative. Thats just the way it is. Your response, Rolla_boy, was possibly more negative than the one liner. Lets all play nice, ok. Quote

Yes my response was probably negative...I had the shits, because someone asked a genuine question, and his opnion was insulted... And I disagree, I think you can tell someone you don't like something without it coming across as negative....You just have to say it respectfully and in a way so as to not insult the other persons opinion. TOY3TG Posted January 23, 2008 Report Posted January 23, 2008 (edited) i don't rekon youd have a problem putting 17x7s but u might need to use those wheel spacer adaptors on a ke70 I'm sure a few tyre shops will help you out or have even fitted them 2 one b4. ive tired some on my t18 with hub adaptors they didnt hit anything. i don't rekon they looked good though and the ride isnt very nice. i think hub adaptors and wheel spacers are illegal though Edited January 23, 2008 by TOY3TG Quote

I personally think the question; "just wondering why you would put 17s on a ke70?" is perfectly valid, I want to know what hes trying to achieve by doing so? From a feel or handling perspective, or whether its just for looks. Theres no need to get personal or abusive. Please realise that most comments, however short, are made in good humour. 9 times out of 10 the reason an argument follows is because someone goes too far in response. Trust me we've all done this, including me. PM me if you want to talk further, lets keep the thread on topic. Quote
laurie Posted January 23, 2008 Report Posted January 23, 2008 Just wondering if you can fit 17" rims 205/40/17 on the front of a ke70 without scrubbing or hitting the shocks or springscheers Nick hey champ, yeh you can fit 17s on there if you get the right offset,i have a set of roh 3 peice with 225s and they don't hit the strut and i don't even have spacers on there, granted its on a 86 but I'm fairly sure there isnt much difference, owning a ke70 as well,i even had a set of 18s on my old sprinter,i may be selling the 17s if your interested with almost new tyres hoping to get round 600,i just bought a new set of 15s, let us no if you need any further help....
