superkart Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 Hi guys, I have a KE55 with a hilux rear end conversion. The hilux rear end has 5 stud drum brakes on the rear. I want to make the whole car have the same amount of studs/PCD but I'm stuck as to what do to. I.E. Should I convert the front end to 5 stud or get disc brakes on the back with 4 stud? I'm happy to do upgrades on both ends, but I think the easiest option would be bigger disks on the front with a 5 stud conversion to bring them inline with the rear. Any ideas as to what cars are 'compatable' or require minnimal fabrication? Any help is greatly appreciated! Cheers, Mike. Quote
flat out Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 skyline r31 disk brake caliper adapters are avalible from craft differential, thats all i know Quote
Taz_Rx Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 Hilux 5 stud is 5x114.3, the same as falcons, 5 stud mazdas, skylines, 200sx's, 300zx's and many more. I have s4-5 rx7 4 pot brakes on my rx4, they were 5x114.3 and I though about a hilux diff to match up the stud pattern. Ended up going the other way, got a 13b diff which was orinial stud pattern and re-drilled the s4-5 stuff to match. Quote
ca18rolla Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 I have a rn10 jilux diff in my coupe with the standard 5 stud patten and Ba falcon front brakes so i have 5 stud all round. Only thing to think about as well if you are shorting a diff set it up so you can use the same offset all the way round. I have to use pre au on the fron t and late model falcon on the back as the diff is a little narrow to use pre au on the back. MAkes buying wheels hard trust me! Quote
