adam-__- Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 Your not wrong. The 33 was the whale, the 35 is the ship that takes them back to Jap. So true though. haha. Here's a whole section about the R35. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ni...ussion-f80.html Quote
Trev Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 The HR31 is the harpoon that takes them all out in the looks department tho :drgrim: Quote
YKE 20T Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 i love the flying wedge!! so sharp so 80's so coool!! Quote
KE70-from-mt-panorama Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 doesnt look much like a GTR from the front or side, But still looks awesome. Why did they go v6 instead of l6 in this one? Quote
YKE 20T Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 i think they went to the v because they had all ready developed the vq35de for the 350z and infinity's so it was probably a cost thing. just use whats all ready there and add boost! Quote
KE70-from-mt-panorama Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 Well Theres nothing wrong with just adding boost. Gave them good results. Quote

love ke70 Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 manufacturers are tending towards v6's now due to packaging constraints and impact safety to pedestrians ie crush zones etc. or so i have heard. not sure if its the case with the 35 or not... Quote

Sounds Fair enough. So It Must be true. I was gonna suggest space but you could fit a bus powerplant in there Hmm Might be something behind that. Bus powerplant sounds good...as long as you don't like steering the car Quote
ancullen Posted January 9, 2008 Author Report Posted January 9, 2008 i think they went to the v because they had all ready developed the vq35de for the 350z and infinity's so it was probably a cost thing. just use whats all ready there and add boost! Except while the 350Z uses the VQ35DE (or VQ35HR now), the GT-R uses the VR38DETT, which is apparently a completely new motor specific to only the GT-R. I think that the GT-R chassis also has some (limited) similarities with that of the 350Z, so another benefit of using a V6 instead of a straight six would be that it would be easier to package. Plus the weight of the motor ends up further back in the car than with a straight six simply by being a shorter motor. Quote
YKE 20T Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 i thought that they may have used a different crank for the gtr giving it its bigger displacement but used the same blocks to keep costs down. i may well be wrong through. Quote
Rollaboy2608 Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 add to that, anyone who has ever driven a Nissan V6 will tell you, its one of the smoothest, pleasurable motors you'll ever sample. Quote
7shades Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Yeah even the good old VG30 is a pretty sweet engine... especially non turbo. Nice and tractable down low which makes them quite easy to drive. Quote
kickn5k Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 What a boat!!! The R32 is the real "Godzilla" and the only one that looks any good in my opinion. The other thing is that it will be PINK! well it is a nissan at the end of the day. stu. Quote
