Chobis Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 Absolutely perfect !!!!! Will cost you a little less on tyre shreddage too :) Quote
adam-__- Posted September 4, 2008 Author Report Posted September 4, 2008 Definitely an improvement with the rubbing, but my wheels are still touching the front of the guard. Need to run more/less castor or something. :) I forgot to mention that these shocks don't keep the springs captive at all. No where near... Oh well. hahah Quote
turbo_rolla Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 My front shocks are from a ST185 Celica with KYB part number 365077. 490mm extended, 346mm compressed. Cartridge size is 332mm with an OD of 44mm. Running 14" wheels shouldn't be much different to what mine are with 15s. Remember that you're keeping the same rolling diameter. :) Okay cool, will have a look into them. So you running spacers or anything with them? any issues with captivity of the spring? Quote

Yeah, spacers are needed unless you shorten the strut. You'll probably have to get a gland nut made up as well. The standard ones don't fit if I remember correctly. If you run into problems with the nut, I've got a spare pair here. Cross threaded the start of the nut (one 'ring'), but will do the job. The shocks don't keep the springs captive at all. At all.. hahah I think you'll need something about 100mm shorter to keep them captive. Just cruising your forum and just like to add, that is one phat ass Rolla Man!! Depending on how the road is, my car is JUST legal ride height. Wheels are from SSR. You can easily find them on yahooauctions Japan. Just type in 'SSR Mesh' in Japanese and it'll come up. adam-__- Posted September 14, 2008 Author Report Posted September 14, 2008 (edited) Car hasn't really changed much since my last post, but I have picked up a locked diff centre. :D Finally... The centre was from an auto borgwarner (4.1 ratio) and from what I've been told, these can't be put into the manual housing without changing the pinion to the higher ratio one as well? If it doesn't, I think I'll have to take the crown wheel off my current diff and put that onto the welded one. :) Anyone know? Edit: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=23669 Answer in there if anyone needs it. Edited September 23, 2008 by adam-__- Quote
adam-__- Posted September 23, 2008 Author Report Posted September 23, 2008 Anyway.. I ended up getting the diff in last week. Luckily the axles came out pretty easily. Probably took the longest to refit the new centre and bolt the axles back in. What a pain in the arse that was. I think that'll be the last modification I do. It looks good enough for me to be happy with it. It goes hard enough for me to be happy with it. All I need to do now is pick up some driving skills! I'll get some updated pictures up of the car soon. Quote
Chobis Posted September 23, 2008 Report Posted September 23, 2008 Looks Fantastic Mate !!!! Well done. Quote

ae174agze Posted September 23, 2008 Report Posted September 23, 2008 man sweet as looks wicked i think quad head light conversion and this will be one of the best ae70's on here Quote
adam-__- Posted September 23, 2008 Author Report Posted September 23, 2008 Thanks for the comments guys. I honestly don't know what else to do to it. I've thought about badging the boot, but it leaves holes. Respraying it, I will no longer have the matte blue look. haha. Quads.. I can't afford and everyone's going to them. Maybe if they popped up cheap like the chrome bars. Next thing to do on the list would be to just replace my clutch master cylinder because it's now leaking and reseal the diff. Oh also need to find out what's wrong with the dizzy. That's leaking too. ;) Quote

Yes do that with satin black on the bonnet! But looks sexy never-the-less. My mate is selling a suede racing steering wheel (minus boss) if you want it, not cheap but would look hell sexy on this beast. Cheers Matt. Quote
