thomo Posted January 3, 2008 Author Report Posted January 3, 2008 i spend most of my time avoiding the powers that be, NSW RTA is so corrupt the bribes would send me broke in a month Quote
Raven Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 The KE15 you're referring to is the user D. McKiggan and its his fathers car running a worked 5K  Quote
st.nick Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 You'll probably find that using a 35 coupe for Targa, you'll have to fit all the Levin bits to make it as close to a 'genuine' TE37 Levin as possible. That means, badges, tail lights, flares, fender mirrors and that sexy grill and bonnet!! It'd have to look just like a real Levin, and run the equivalent engine... a 2T-g. Ideally, you'd be better off to go for a KE15, or a TE27, as they had more racing pedigree and history than the 3x models. As was mentioned before, it'll cost you at least 15-20k. And if you really want to make a decent, competitive car, you'll need to spend that 15-20k just on the car alone!! Quote
thomo Posted January 3, 2008 Author Report Posted January 3, 2008 ke20/te27 will be the car its decided! the ke1x is just to hard to get bits for, the ke3x is to big heavy and ,yes, lacks the history, had a talk to some guys from bates/toyota rally last nignt, picked up a worked motor, having the shell already stripped on the rotisory i know its a good starting shell, looks like a few months of hard work coming up bugger the money side of targa, yes its lots, no i don't like spending it, but you can't spend your life missing out on fun because of dollar signs, set a goal, work at it, money will happen if your serious Quote
Taz_Rx Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 Targa Tas started the "rookie rally" last year in both modern and classic. If you haven't run targa befor then you have to do the rookie rally first. Last year was won by a Gemini coupe, with 1600, sidies, etc. Was Mozza (Adrian) from Moonah Auto Salvage, for any body who knows him. 7shades - Who do you work work for!? I'm a "glorified roady" as well!! Quote
