Palmy Posted December 22, 2007 Report Posted December 22, 2007 not sure where i could have put this thread so it ended up goin here. i want to get a set of 16"x7" wheels for my 55' but am not sure if they will fit right. am worried about the front tyres rubing on the shockers.... i think the offest for them is +40. anyway here is the url for them, if anyone has done this before i would love 2 hear bout it. look for the wheels with the caption- 16*7.0 KSpeed Super GT http://www.tempetyres.com.au/products_by_c...un+Wheel+Wizard Quote

As an idea, I've got 14x7 Supra mags on my KE55, and they've got an offset of +8, and they _just_ stick out of the guards, so the offset is perfect. +40 will mean MAJOR scrubbing on the shocks, most likely front and rear. +40 is an offset more commonly used on FWD cars (such as the FWD Corollas) Quote
Palmy Posted December 27, 2007 Author Report Posted December 27, 2007 yeah well i rekon i will can that idea, I'm thinking jus 15" skyline chasers and that will look pretty ol skool, plus the chasers will prob b a bit cheaper then buyin brand new rims n tyres :y: Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 I EASILY fitted 17 x 7's onto my KE35, and if you can find 15 inch Skyline chasers, they would probably be more expensive than a new set of rims anyway. Quote
Palmy Posted December 28, 2007 Author Report Posted December 28, 2007 mmmk then, well i will prob only go 16" max, as usual its the cash prob that puts you back a bit. are chasers that hard 2 find and expensive?? Quote
kangaroosa Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 are chasers that hard 2 find and expensive?? Yes (well a full set are) and Yes (compared to the fact that you could get some nice 2nd alloys for the same price). It just so happens that i stumbled across a set of 15" Chasers/Interceptors today.....but i got lucky. Quote
Palmy Posted January 1, 2008 Author Report Posted January 1, 2008 (edited) kangaroosa- shit thats is lucky then hey lol. thanks 4 that info, gotta try n find 2nd hand ones otherwise i unfortunately i will have 2 fork a bit more 4 brand newies. cuzzo- i take it ur talkin bout the car in ur pic, a Ke55 i take it. how wide are ur rims? any scrubbing? Edited January 1, 2008 by Palmy Quote
cuzzo Posted January 1, 2008 Report Posted January 1, 2008 The rear guards needed to be lipped. It only scrubs when you go up a driveway on a angle. Id say this is because its a bit low. OFFSET IS THE KEY. ! Quote
OniBerserker Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 go for a set of ae86 rims, in 14's or 15's they are all around the right offset Quote
Palmy Posted January 2, 2008 Author Report Posted January 2, 2008 well thats gonna be a pain in the arse 4 me cause i have pretty much re-moulded my rear gaurds with bog. so if I'm desperate for 16's I'm gonna have 2 break all that up, shit!! lol Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 You don't have to lip shit if you get the correct offset....I had 17 x 7 on the back of my KE30 and they went nowhere near the guard....As has been previously stated....it's all about offset Quote

Palmy Posted January 2, 2008 Author Report Posted January 2, 2008 (edited) hey thanks heaps rolla boy, thought i might jus throw in a bid and c how i go. they look in awesome condition too. one thing i wanna kno is if you can put low profile tyres on 15" rims?? if so, are they more expensive then normal tyres?? Edited January 2, 2008 by Palmy Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Yes you can put low profile tyres on those rims....I would recommend 195/50/15's...and tyre prices vary depending how good you want your tyres to be. Should be able to get some cheapies for around $100 each. Quote
