7shades Posted December 22, 2007 Report Posted December 22, 2007 (edited) Ok so its been a couple of years, I figure I'm ready to start a build thread now... but DON'T RUSH ME ALREADY I can't handle the immense peer pressure and scrutiny :lolcry: This is Benji. I picked him up a little while ago for the missus to drive, so she can stop thrashing the snot out of mine and I can take it off the road for re-incarnation. Collecting it was a mission in itself... details here. So at this point it had cut springs, rooted shocks, and several missing wheel studs. These problems have been rectified with nice new stock replacements for the time being. I binned the cooked head and threw another reco one on (which I had in the shed, handy) with a new gasket. After much pissfarting around and gnashing of teeth it still used oil and water so I decided to replace the entire engine with another one. (which I also had in the shed, handy) Cleaned up the bay. New engine in. Since its a girliemobile I threw a bit of paint around first... :fuzz: The motor is currently out of the car again... 2nd gear was a bit notchy and the clutch wasn't 100% so I've replaced the 5 speed, machined the flywheel and a brand new clutch is on. Missus is using the opportunity to paint MORE things pink, ie: fuel pump, alternator, engine mounts, etc. Looks hideous :bash: Has a nice new set of headers and a rejetted 32/36 weber. I have a cam here too but it the combination of lumpy idle and a weber makes it impossible (for the moment) to idle with the aircon on, so whenever I decide to overcome that problem I might whack the cam back in. 7shades Posted December 22, 2007 Author Report Posted December 22, 2007 I find the standard KE70 front quite boring. This is MUCH better. I've had these for a while, figured it was about time to actually put them on a car. Benji and Eddie. Eddie is soon the be the recipient of a major rebuild and repowering. Quote
nickyboy Posted December 22, 2007 Report Posted December 22, 2007 quads are choice :fuzz: pinks not to bad either :lolcry: Quote
Jono Posted December 22, 2007 Report Posted December 22, 2007 that has got to be the best quad conversion on here. i've never liked the quad conversions before because they usually look like hack jobs. Quote

True, I assume the missus must be a good driver, cause you wouldn't want to bend those. Quote
7shades Posted December 22, 2007 Author Report Posted December 22, 2007 (edited) She can drive, I taught her :fuzz: Also she has EXPRESS instructions re: the quads... ie: she bends 'em, she finds a new set :lolcry: And yeah I took my time installing them properly. Having an air powered bodysaw helps immensely. They're still not quite perfect though... I'm going to reshape the parker recesses ever so slightly before I repaint it. 78_7kRolla Posted December 23, 2007 Report Posted December 23, 2007 Nice work, more than good enough for the missus! You're right, the pink is hideous but then again it is a chicks car. Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 One word covers everything I think of the car. Cool  Quote
7shades Posted March 15, 2008 Author Report Posted March 15, 2008 While the cat is away, the mouse will play... did some tinkering with the gf's car while she was working today. This is how a shed should look.... hers and his :hmm: Monza seats in, Nardi on, hideous Jap-spec-pink-glittery-gearknob installed. Dodgy scorpion rims with their shitty secondhand japanese winter treads removed, replaced with good tyres and some alloys with a better offset. Going to have them blasted and painted white... one day. Also chucked some lower springs in... doesn't look like a 4wd anymore. Huzzah. Sits at a very nice height too... not too low, still plenty of travel and isn't stupidly hard. Little miss bought some bulb paint (pink, of course) from Autobacs the other week, so she spent a couple of hours the other day changing ALL of her dash lights to pink. Actually looks kinda cool... I'll get a pic tonight. Quote
7shades Posted March 15, 2008 Author Report Posted March 15, 2008 Pink bits... hard to photograph. Quote
**chumps** Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 That looks tuff man keep up the good work Cheers Ben Quote
