MYSTIK[RL] Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 (edited) heres a link to a guy on twincam that can build a you a plenum custom 20v plenum has for everything else look like you have it well scouted and suited :y: i have heard good and bad about EMS but its the same with all aftermarket computers its all down to the tuner. not sure if you have looked into a Link or Vipec a/m ecu, as i do believe are both able to control the vvt quite well that is if you decide to stick with the standard cams :lolcry: Edited July 23, 2009 by MYSTIK Quote
greenmac80 Posted July 23, 2009 Author Report Posted July 23, 2009 (edited) ems has everything i believe. i need an ecu that has vvt capability and coldstart to get me thru regency. now i belive from what i've read vvt can be maintained even with aftermarket cams. but if your lift goes beyond a certain point you have to get rid of it. i think the main cam i should upgrade to match up with the porting is the exhaust the better flowing the exhaust the better. thanks for the link dale! but it says i need to be a member tried that a few times before! wait it worked!!! greenmac80 Posted July 23, 2009 Author Report Posted July 23, 2009 that plenum is porn but very heavy my steel one is about the same weight and very exxy Quote
greenmac80 Posted July 25, 2009 Author Report Posted July 25, 2009 some random side shots of the car.. all in primer. smoothing progress still more smoothing to do. more updates to come on that i've done more but nothing really photo worthy yet. Quote
greenmac80 Posted July 25, 2009 Author Report Posted July 25, 2009 now since i've flaird my rear guard i need to flare my fronts. so today i got a crappy panel and gave it a go. turns out its quite easy! rear guard. front... need at least another 20mm marked the cuts out (note how they get smaller... this will help to retain the bodylines and provide a smooth transition. and cut bend em out a bit till you get your desired flare. tack weld then full weld. grind smooth. onece they are all done figreglass it and prime and prep it so its smooth for paint. only a test panel so i won't be doing the smoothing. but yeah thats todays progress. trav_555 Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 Did they bend or get dents from heat man? Cause be careful of that :y: Travis Quote

greenmac80 Posted August 3, 2009 Author Report Posted August 3, 2009 also... ryan and have been doing some planning... and lets just say we have some pretty trick i deas coming up for a roof lining... but that'll come once the shell is painted. so does anyone want a new roof lining? i had one made outta black suede $50 for it. also opinions wanted........ the firewall i'm considering getting a sheet made up to cover it. well make it flatter not so much of the bumps and recesses. basically yay or nay? not sure if it'll be worth the hassle. oh what a nissan feeling! Posted August 6, 2009 Report Posted August 6, 2009 Flat firewall :D a fair bit of welding, would look showy, up to you in the end. Youve got me all inspired now, i ripped my old engine out on the weekend, and started stripping paint. You move fast, its all happening!!! :D Quote
greenmac80 Posted August 6, 2009 Author Report Posted August 6, 2009 ^^ haha cheers man! about to slow down quite a bit tho. i'm back at work again now so i only got wkends to work now... i reckon i will flatten the firewall but i'll use just a sheet with a few cutouts for essentials. e.g. brake booster and clutch. and brake lines will be tricky... might make it a bolt on item perhaps?? have to plan it out real good cos i gotta allow for brake lines etc. the plate being bolt on will make it easy to hide stuff such as brake lines tho!! hmmm ideas!!! bad mean it'll take longer to hit the road!!
