greenmac80 Posted June 1, 2008 Author Report Posted June 1, 2008 update! out with the old! in with the new! new shockers. yes i'm using gabriel ultras. and undercar painted black! Crappy photos but you get the idea.. camera phone aren't the best without decent exposure! Quote
78_7kRolla Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 Getting better all the time mate! Can't wait until she's done. Your old dash pad was really f**ked! Matt. Quote
Murd 55 Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 lookin good, can't wait to see more progress! Quote
greenmac80 Posted June 5, 2008 Author Report Posted June 5, 2008 Ok been doing a lot of thinking about things to do! Ok custom roof lining with LED downlights! New carpet! You all know how the dash has that rough texture? well i'm going to give it a thick coat of high build primer.. then sand it silky smooth!! going to trim the dash black and gold! assemble then a nice thick clear coat! the dash will be very shiny and smoooooth! hope to have this little project done by next week.. yay for long wkend!! Now cooling issues. I've decided i like the idea of the davie craig automatic electric water pump! expensive but it will make the overall problem easier to deal with.... much easier. gonna do the intank lift pump coversion. then with a surge tank hop to find somewhere to hide it! The two 12's are going... being replaced with 1 single 1000w rms 12" sub. Thats all for now! hope to have some piccy for next week! Quote
Raven Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 Coming along nicely dude  Two things though... 1. Keep the dash as is, otherwise you're going to have to prep it for paint etc and if you don't prep it properly, the clear will just peel off. 2. Lift pump/surge tank can go in the boot as thats where the fuel tank is located. If the fuel tank was located underneath the car, then the lift pump and surge tank would also have to be located underneath the car to comply with ADR's (if you were to engineer it). Quote

Yeah i'm hoping to hide the tank in the boot behind a custom covering. kinda like the stock one but larger and a bit more forwards. also regarding the dash it will be prepped properly... i work at a painting solutions company and i getting some tech primer. hmmm i wish the tank was underneath... would free up some boot room! thanks for the feedback guys! PMP020 Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 throw your spare away, cut the spare wheel well out, weld in a flat plate, bolt in a drop tank underneath, throw out your old tank. presto, much boot space, for your fully sik subwoofer. just a thought. cheers, scott Quote
greenmac80 Posted June 5, 2008 Author Report Posted June 5, 2008 Thought of that but you need a spare! i've shredded a few tyres and thanked my lucky star i had a spare! If only the boot was like the old escorts. where the tyre fitted along the side... and the fuel tank was on the oppo side to that! i do want to cut the well out! and then use a wagon strapping system! this way i can have my sik subwoofer custom installed anywhere i want! PatW Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 that is some progress and nice work with the rolla. What sort of undercoat are you using? Are you using rubberised type of the paint on bitumen? I used some paint on bitumen that required some heating before application, but some friend mentioned they may not be lasting compared to rubberised coatings. Bitumen would flake off over time. Just sharing my knowledge. Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 I've decided i like the idea of the davie craig automatic electric water pump! Hey man, probably aviod that brand, they had a good reputation, but are now known to be crap. Also, my tank in my ke30 cost $400 to get made, it drops in through the boot, with a large lip to bolt to. it is all mods approved. Quote

oh what a nissan feeling! Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 Recently my brother has been looking for a pump for his water to air type intercooler, he was keen for the davis craig pump, but when he consulted a few businesses who specialize in this stuff, they would not even sell him one due to their experience with them. Bosch make the item he was recomended, not sure about the controller but. Quote
