crispyke35 Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 Just read through your thread the car is looking awesome can't wait to see the finished project. Had to read the whole thing. i have found even more motivation for my project ke35. I'm also at uni (currently on break) and finding the budget things a bit tough but getting there. Cheers for the motivation. Quote
greenmac80 Posted February 3, 2009 Author Report Posted February 3, 2009 ok update!! revised my alt mount 4 times!!! wasn't happy with the fit each time! here are some pics... with the right size belt this will be quite neat. needs some smoothing over but yeah!! i'm happy! the tensioner bit is the hardest! picture it in the bay with the motor tilted!! will look good and will alow the rad hose to fit perfectly! this was based on the toyota design but i made it lower still so you don't have to flip the water pump inlet around. Quote
bmxsexmonkey Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 sweet, completly different design to the 1st one. i will more than likely be getting a 20v now as the other engines will be too much f@$king around. Quote
seabiscuit Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 One word... That's a mother load of panel work. I guess it HAS to be straight :P Keep it up. Quote
bmxsexmonkey Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 hey luc just a quick idea if you can't get the adjustable tension right or if it is madd hard just make the bottom hole a lil bit adjustable like a slit going on an angle rather than a single hole. make it slide alot better Quote
SLO-030 Posted February 4, 2009 Report Posted February 4, 2009 or make the tensioner arm pivot on a bolt so you adjust its angle to suit. Quote
greenmac80 Posted February 4, 2009 Author Report Posted February 4, 2009 nah the problem is actually cutting it. i have to use a plasma cutter and its quite hard to see what your doing. Quote
SLO-030 Posted February 4, 2009 Report Posted February 4, 2009 should just be able to pick up a load of ones from the wreckers. would be cheap and simple. Quote
greenmac80 Posted February 17, 2009 Author Report Posted February 17, 2009 (edited) litle update! not much happenin lately! but i got these made up! they are urethane and have aluminium spacers in em just like factory! i can get these ordered through technical urethanes for about 80 bucks for all 4 can even get em injected in black for your ninja spec! 13BT_KE20 Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 I'm keen for a set, anybody else? Group buy maybe? Quote
greenmac80 Posted February 17, 2009 Author Report Posted February 17, 2009 (edited) not sure if they fit ke20? measure your leafsprings width? and the also the spacer might be too big>? if there is enought interest then yeah i will talk to irokin about a group buy. will everyone want black? easier to get him to do em in one colour. or do ya'll want red!? greenmac80 Posted February 21, 2009 Author Report Posted February 21, 2009 little update! hope to have a lot more snapps by the end of the wkend. but so far i've striped my gearbox and its sitting in a metal clean tank at work! found that my seal from toyota for theinput shaft snout actually fits!! ryan and i lifter my motor in the bay to start running the wiring... hiding all of it! the fusebox ignitor coil starter relay etc is all getting put inside the car behind the firewall. also we sussed out exactly how to finish the airbox in such a way that it hides the massively ugly afm! so minimal wiring in the bay and no clutter!! just some starter pics!
