greenmac80 Posted March 31, 2008 Author Report Posted March 31, 2008 Haha, that's some nice powder coating |blink| and that polishing is pretty nice  turbo 4k hay? What turbo will you be looking at using? t28? Anyway enough of my rambling, nice ride and keep it up :nervous: Not sure what turbo.. but my mate has a turbo from an RB20 i'm thinking of using! or i could go with a turbo from a laser that another mate has! greenmac80 Posted April 1, 2008 Author Report Posted April 1, 2008 Powder coated another bit today! Quote
Doogs Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 Powder coat looks good :nervous: Sorry to hear about the ding, hope it all gets back together ok. Quote
greenmac80 Posted April 1, 2008 Author Report Posted April 1, 2008 Ok all up i've been quoted 1800 bucks for block work and head work! for a turbo 4k then i gotta get manifold etc. I think for 1600 i'm better off going 7k efi then perhaps turbocharging that! more power straight away for same money! Quote
Raven Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 7K wont handle revs too well but will be a torque monster fo' sho. Plenty of people with 5K Turbo's on here running 7K-E manifolds. Might wanna speak to the two main culprits. Taz_RX and madrolla68 about boosting your K motor. :nervous: Quote
greenmac80 Posted April 1, 2008 Author Report Posted April 1, 2008 Could always build it a bit better? Chrome rings put through could help it handle revs better? Quote
Raven Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 Its to do with the stroke of the motor rather than building it better. You could get it to rev but I don't know how long it would hold together. :nervous: Quote
Toy-Yoda[RL] Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 This may only be conjecture, but lightweight pistons, rods, and a well balanced crank *should* allow a 7K to rev reasonably happily AFAIK. Or just leave it for a bit then supercharge it to really rip up stumps...... :nervous: Quote

Supercharge setup doesn't cost as much as turbo and it seema a bit easier! Just now for a list of stuff i'll need for the efi conversion. any one help here? Quote
doityourself Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 Like I said over the phone to you, I am more then willing to help out Quote
