if your looking for that much extra power when tuning 200kw is a long way from 150kw... for example with 4ag's its relatively easy to get 150kw but 200kw is quite a few more $$ so the power output will depend on your budget and the motor you start from obviously.

cheap, fast, reliable. Pick two.

Thats gotta be a nominee for quote of the year I reckon

jdm guy, your in the US bud, you have a lot more after market support, there is very little in australia appart from genuine toyota.

kickn5k, that actually sounds quite poor power to me.. considering that it sounds like a quite highly tuned 4L!! i mean there is a sr20det in Australia that puts out 1000hp (750kw), thats stroked to 2.2 from memory. my point is that if your that worried about the price of fuel then sleeve it stock. keep the stocko 5K on the gas. instead of spending money on an engine conversion/modification, put that aside for fuel..? none of us like paying for fuel but an decrease of economy is nateraly going to happen when you start modifying. i also thing that you would find a std 4ag very good of fuel, better than a carby 5k. i worked at a garage that did gas conversions and the guy with years of experience said that no way would he run his own car on gas.

maybe he is sick of going slow so he wants to start with something better if he wants that sort of power. i can't really see a 5k being capable of putting out a reliable 200hp.

Madrollers turbo 5K has proven reliable so far in his KE10 so power can be made from a 5K safely but like anything has a limit.

Also the reason a K motor is slanted is in a KE10 the K motor was make installed when designing upright and it touched the bonnet. That is why they slanted it and for later models TRD made an upright kit. So judging by the height and that of my mates 2T-G in his car and a 3T-G he is building they wouldn't fit easily AT ALL into a KE10 But I mean with $$ any thing can be done so it is your choice.

And remember end of the day it comes down to power to weight ratio. KE10 are light as anything so a K motor still goes quite well in them. But if you really want to change go a 4age. Seen it doen as I said before went hard as and still kept some originality to it.

tas_ae71, I hope you didnt take take my post as a dig at you or your knowledge as it was not intended too. I didnt fully clarify that it was only about 16-18 psi because anymore and the car would just torch the tyres on the dyno with 3 people in the boot or not.

Performance lpg just seems a little bigger here in VIC as there are a heap of real tough blown v8`s a fair few rb30 turbos on gas and even a 1ggte powered ta 22 celica. But i also do agree that a 4age would probably be as cheap to run as a hotty 5k on lpg, and would make more power std and also behave on the road alot better on the road.

Camerondownunder88, For sure 7k ftw looks stock and makes torque and heaps of it everywhere. oh and in vic seem to be easier to find than 5k`s through wreckers.

yeah just wondering where I'm might be able to get a 7k from as i think ive mentioned with my vl that is a pig to drive on most days it hits boost and I'm either still going the same pace or its caught traction and launched at the moment it runs 12.30 with my engine builder driving it. with me driving it i got a 13.1 shit launch and shit gear changes. also it mainly sitts in the garage as i got pulled over in it and got in shit with the law about safely driving. but ive got my rolla and want something that will go hard as f*** and something in it so when it hits boost it will loose a bit of traction I'm not fussed about high speeds and its goes this fast thats how people die going to fast than they can drive like the 4 guys the other week on the free way. traggic for the 3 passengers but the driver deserved it. stupid speeds. the reason its on gas aswell is becuase of fuel prices but my vl with the v6 ecotec runs awsome on it once i got the heads done to suit and easy as hell to tune. my corolla runs the exact same gas system and ive found it goes good now. no carbies no nothing 90 degree elbow from the intake manifold to a gas research throttle body. to a impco b2 convertor. all this talk and replies is awsome and I'm learning a bit thanks guys

i wouldnt go a TG engine in a KE15, especially turbo'd. they are a physically large 4cyl engine, and very heavy. it will leave you precious little space to play with the turbo system, and will weigh the front end down badly!

id be going K engine for sure. ive seen them before with 150rwkw turbo charged 5ks, so its definately possible. or even go 7k. 150rwkw with the torque it will produce will make you shit your pants anyways!

A Tidy 4AGE swap into a E1X chassie is hard to beat as a tuff streeter. The 2TG is a monster, it's about as big as you could make a 1600cc, getting the carbies to fit in the engine bay without hitting anything would be a huge effort.

Either go to town on a 5K, (buy one of the packages in the forsale section, there is real value there)

or

RWD 4AGE, rebuild with OEM replacement small port pistons (higher compression), metal head gasket, and look forward to years of trouble free motoring offeirng about 70-76RWkW.

Cheers
