AJC Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 Hi There, just about to do a disc upgrade on my Ke10. I am doing ke20 disc upgrade which is relatively easy. Check out the link at the top of the screen -> Knowledge Base/FAQ There are heaps of options depending on how much $ you wish to spend and whether you want to keep the current wheels or move to the larger PCD 114. http://www.rollaclub.com/faq/index.php?tit...ont_Disc_Brakes Quote
ke20rolla Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 I've just fitted bigger front discs and a twin circuit master cyclinder with booster off a ke30 to my ke20. :( Before anyone asks I've got my gearbox out due to clucth slipping problems Quote
p_schrapel Posted December 11, 2007 Author Report Posted December 11, 2007 (edited) hey guys i was just wondering if a ke30 brake master cylinder and booster will fit into my ke15 corolla Edited December 11, 2007 by p_schrapel Quote
fozz Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 for rear brakes you could use a t18 diff with a corona disk setup Quote
p_schrapel Posted December 12, 2007 Author Report Posted December 12, 2007 hey thanks heaps guys I'm trying to find a ke20 corolla and can't find one at a wreckers in victoria melbourne and its annoying me but i can find ke55, corolla te72 and te23 celica i was just wondering if the master cylinder struts and brakes and everything will just bolt onto me ke15 thanks heaps guys for all your support and guidence Quote
phife Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 Ke20 disc brake struts i believe should fit without too much problem, mine already had them when i bought my ke10. Master cylinder will be another issue however. The original in the ke10 is a 10/16 bore single circuit (i assume your ke15 would be the same), the seals in mine were stuffed so i replaced it with a 11/16 bore dual circuit from an early galant. It's wasn't quite a bolt up job and i don't think there is any straight forward bolt up master cylinder without having to stuff around with brake lines, firewall clearances, brake bias etc. Even a booster would be a problem due to it's firewall position. A common way around it is to use a VH44 remote brake booster found in some older holdens, valiants etc. If the engine will remain fairly stock than no booster should be fine. Quote
Felix Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 (edited) Just run ke30 or ke55 discs with ke20 hubs on your original struts. Needs 13" rims. It tells you how to do the ke30 disc conversion in the FAQ. Works great with the standard master cylinder. On my ke15, I run ke30 discs on an unboosted stock master cylinder with a modded 5k. Awesome solid pedal feel with heaps of feedback. Pulls up from 100 kays in about 30 meters with A539 tyres. Only time I've experienced brake fade is on a long steep mountain descent.
