Pieman Posted December 5, 2007 Report Posted December 5, 2007 I pulled apart a JDM caliper to paint and kept the other assembled as a reference. On closer inspection, the reference was missing this clip so I can't figure out where it goes and what it's purpose is. Hopefully someone knows.. Is it redundant to keeping the pads secured or am I going to need a rebuild kit? Quote
WinKE55 Posted December 5, 2007 Report Posted December 5, 2007 Mm not 100% sure on this, but I think either it attaches onto the brake pad as a brake pad wear indicator or it will attach on top of the caliper, or even where the brake pad slides into the caliper. I've done a few brakes on Fords, though not on this model. Hope you have a brief idea on my not so good information. Hope it all goes well. Quote
dfunkt Posted December 5, 2007 Report Posted December 5, 2007 i'll second what winke55 said, i helped re-assemble a mates front brakes on his ae82 twinky. it holds the anti-squeal shim to the back of the pad. their on both the piston side and the other side. you could get away without it. Quote
arch Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 ditch the clip. strip that red paint off, and paint em black ffs :( Quote
