wyldephyre Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 Anyone from here going? Good possibility I will be shooting. Quote
irokin Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 I'm thinking...if I can afford it....I might come out for a try. I realised today the celica is really good at hand brake turns. Quote
Redwarf Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 Unfortunately entries for this one closed last week... :jason: Probably wouldn't have been a good one to start with, as it is the most expensive motorkhana to be run in Qld for many years. The only reason Datgirl and myself have entered is because one of our sponsers have paid for it..... Quote
irokin Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 bummer... Thinking about perhaps coming to watch. I think Id better watch one before I have a go... Quote
Xany Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 i might be there.....depending on if i'm working on the blue beast. Quote
demuire Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 (edited) I won't be competing, not sure if I'll be watching. Hal is still broken, and at the current rate I don't even know if it'll be ready for the khanacross next weekend :jason: Going to go and look for another diff on the weekend, am hoping to get at least that sorted and the dash back into the car by late next week, looks like I'm ditching the locker and going back to an open... Hopefully Brian will have time to redo the suspension too, as the car now has only about 10mm of bump on the back, which is a little too little especially for a khanacross... Teddy Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 oh Feck. i would of loved to compete in this one :jason: - its so close to home!!!!!!! Ahh well... ill just have to wait for the next one :blinks: Quote
99 Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 I'm competing but, as Redwarf said, it's only cos we're sponsored. And I hope my car is fixed in time!! And, I challenge anyone to live closer to the venue than me, I literally live 2 streets from it!! Quote
demuire Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 Lucky sponsored people :jason: Mel: What's wrong with Redatto? Rob: Can I borrow services of big slide hammer? Need to get axles out of Hal, last time I tried to get the axles out I had no luck whatsoever... Quote
99 Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 Rally damage report: 1. Unidentified (and ongoing) problem with cooling system Symptoms: hot water splatting on to windscreen but temperature gauge says everything is fine. Replaced bottom radiator hose, bypassed broken heater hose, got super dooper radiator cap, overflow bottle replaced, thermostat replaced. Prime Suspect: 1 radiator. Being removed and examined. Secondary Suspect: 1 sender. May inspect. 2. Unidentified major knocking noise coming from left rear - suspension related as it only happens when going over bumps. Prime Suspect: 1 shock absorber. Being taken to Pedders Geebung for general suspension inspection. Secondary Suspect: 1 spring. May inspect. I love my car. Quote
demuire Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 (edited) Hmm... Are you losing a lot of water? Any idea where the water is actually coming from? Sounds like a leak that only comes up under pressure and heat (like my Camry). Issues for Hal: 1: No dash. Have to put dash back in, and figure out the wiring again. Somehow I don't think I labeled the wires when I put it all together (since I was doing them one by one) and now it's all unplugged again... 2: Axles stuck. Can't seem to get them out, not sure why. 3: Diff is making a lot of noise and a lot of metal. Have to replace, not sure if I'm going to get a diff shop to swap another set of gears onto my locked center and set it all up again or if I'm just going to put an open center in. 4: Axles sometimes have a bit of float in them, causing rear brake discs to rub against calipers and do lots of bad things. Should probably replace rear discs as they're pretty f**ked, but I'll see how much money I have. They are only rear ones after all... Not sure how to fix the float, might need to get custom spacers made up. Edited November 3, 2004 by demuire Quote
irokin Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 Ive got a similar coolant problem in the celica. Under pressure you get coolant sprayed all over the engine bay even though the temperatures fine. Turns out the leaks coming from where the thermostat housing meets the head. One of the bolts had rotted out so I took that out, cleaned the hole out and put a new one in. So far so good. Quote
