LXY-642 Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 Coming together nicely man. How come you opted for a hurst shifter over b&m? Quote
furryfrog Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 (edited) coming together, can imagine this is going to be very fun in auto form Edited October 28, 2010 by furryfrog Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted October 28, 2010 Author Report Posted October 28, 2010 I would like to see this when it is all bolted up (hopefully before it is in the car) will take a pic for you mate. Coming together nicely man. How come you opted for a hurst shifter over b&m? Cheers mate. Mostly price for the shifter ($180 new from memory), they feel a bit more quality to use too imo, just a bit less rattley. there is progress on this too, will update soon with pics :y: Quote
LXY-642 Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 Fair enough man. I've got a b&m for my vl. Going to stay with the standard 3 speed auto shifter in my ke36. Keen to see the updates :) Quote
LXY-642 Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 Any chance you can remember how much you clearance you added for the bell housing? And any updates yet? Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted December 23, 2010 Author Report Posted December 23, 2010 Hi man, I spend a one arvo a week on this, so it continues to progress, the photos all look the same though as its all undercoat still, so will post pics as soon as i spray some topcoat. I found this pic of the tunnel, i think i added about a 3 inch wide strip into the top of the tunnel that i can just see in this pic. Not such a big deal really, now that i think about the mods needed to the rear of the tunnel for the manual, in hindsight, if the rest of the tunnel clears the auto would be easier i think. :hmm: cheers~matt Quote
BUZ440 Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 Nice in depth build up mate, makes me want to throw more money at mine, where does it end, haha subscribed to this thread!! Quote
LXY-642 Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 Sweet as thanks man. Yeah really wanna get a c4 for mine. The jatco clears everywhere in the tunnel except right at the firewall there so yeah I would agree on it being easy. Once a week will at least keep a steady pace on it and not make you get over it, would make it more affordable to lol Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Hey man, you should chuck a thread up, from some of your posts it sounds like something to see! Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted January 9, 2011 Author Report Posted January 9, 2011 Well, i had decided not to post any more pics until a bit of colour is painted. but, what the hell, here's proof this is still cracking along, i spend about an arvo a week on it. This is the second and final layer of undercoat for the car, all spot puttying is done, and everything is looking schmicko. ready to go and all done and in guide coat. Have spent a fair bit of time rubbing it back ready for colour already, it is coming up really good and is about 70% ready to go so far. Even had the missus sanding inside the doors this arvo. Quote
Undertaker_is_the_best Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 man i like the progress it may be small but its getting there and soon to pay off well done so far look forward to reading the rest of the build Quote
