doesnt look like much, but if i had a shot of a factory engine bay the differences are there, and many.

Also been getting hold of a fair bit of NOS stuff for the rola, mostly the chromed plastic bits on the grill, taillights and chrome surrounds, grill emblem, ect. Still a fair bit of expense even though its an old corolla.

Also tracked down a good, rechromed rear bar for the rear, pretty damn hard to find item as well. It turns out it aint as good as i had hoped once its on the car, the gap to the body is uneven, so it has had a nudge at some point. Only i would notice though.

Looking awesome dude, gonna be a serious bit of gear when you're done. You going caltracs for the back end? I have a new found respect for leafs and drag racing with what OKE20 has achieved, didn't think 8 second passes were possible on a leaf rear end :blinks:

mmmm paint, i may be a bit optimistic, but i hope to be spraying green within 3 weeks.

hey can you pm me some details on cage specifiactions etc etc.

No worries man. Would you like the specs of my cage, or a scan of the andra rulebook rollcage section?

Cheers mate. Yep caltracs will be used. Will take some setting up though as they determine whether the car squats or lifts in the rear, and also whether the wheels stay on the ground or not. 0KE20 uses a fair bit of scaffold in the boot to take the work off the leaves, i can't really copy off his as I'm trying to be road legal, but i have a few ideas for under the car that I will be trialing. Setup was always going to be the fun part as I'm pretty sure the stock wheel arches will stay as is.

Home made caltracs - they worked really well

Its just going to require a whole lot more setting up to cope with what i require the car to do this time.

How i mounted the previous set was:

remove the leaf pack

The front rubbers/eye bushes need to be ground / cut back to be almost flush with the spring on either side. (a wood saw works well)

This then allows space for the caltrac to fit.

The caltrac triangle will need large washers on each side of it to prevent rubbing against the rubber, and the cars mount.

I made the caltrac triangles out of 3mm plate steel, and used shortened panhard rods as the link to the diff.
