Des Posted November 30, 2007 Author Report Posted November 30, 2007 Redline anti shock oil, The blue stuff is good for gear boxes and the red stuff is good for diff's, Helps to stop crunch's in old worn gears but can also glaze synchroes and cause crunching. Every single ute at work cops a flogging so they get the redline stuff. Quote
projectKE10 Posted December 9, 2007 Report Posted December 9, 2007 (edited) Ford owners can't drive either, as my last trip to Toowoomba taught me. A p plater was fishying up a street in the CBD in pouring rain with pedestrians and a full line of parked cars up either side in metered spaces, including mine. Thankfully no drift damage. He even looked at me and gave a couple of pumps of his fist, to which I shook my head and gave a thumbs down. He actually hung his head in shame upon seeing my response. I felt very satisfied with that outcome. Just like our friend above, this gent will have his moment soon enough. End rant. Um sorry but i can't read this without comenting, ask yourself did he drive away with his car in one piece, and without damaging anyone elses car, after doing a one handed fishtale. Or did his car end up in the shop writen off like old mate in the crapadore, after crashing at "15kph". In my opinion the ford driver in this instence sounds like the more skilled driver. :( ....... I wil agree though, he shouldn't of done it around all the pedestrians and cars but it shows who was able to hold onto their car and come out without a scratch. beerhead Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 :P Doing a fishy up the street does not equal skill, its a gauge of ability sought after by noobs like yourself it seems. Their are times and places for everything, but when the shit hits the fan, skills aren't a variable that will help the cause. If you've taken the time you may have read about people being killed by people with "skills" in this thread, and you've jumped up with your sword drawn for the honour of a noob ford driver  Um sorry but i can't read this without comenting, ask yourself did he drive away with his car in one piece, and without damaging anyone elses car, after doing a one handed fishtale. Raven Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 (edited) I generally don't think a specific type of "make" of car should brand someone a "n00b". There are plenty of holden drivers, nissan drivers, and well, hate to say it, toyota drivers that hit the wanker switch to impress a few people on more than the odd occasion. It more than likely comes down to the people that those types "hang with' y0" and peer pressure that encourages that type of behaviour which results in bent cars or worse, death. Regarding the auto/manual licence topic. Just because someone drives an auto doesn't mean they are incapable. As Jason said, some people just aren't capable of clutching in, down shifting, balancing the clutch and accelerator for a smooth take-off or turning the wheel while changing down gears around a corner, for example. Most of us here are mechanically-minded individuals, some aren't. I know of a few people on here who drive auto and the majority drive manual. So what? In an emergency situation, call someone who can deal with an emergency if the person in question can't drive a manual vehicle. simple as that. Edited December 10, 2007 by Raven Quote

Well first of all whats a noob???????????? Secondly, if you weren't an alchoholic (beerhead), you might be able to get out there and attempt getting your car into, and holding onto, a full blown one handed fishtale, and then you would find out its not as easy as it looks. And thirdly """'if you've taken the time you might have read""" that i agree that he shouldn't of done it around all the pedestrains and parked cars. Quote
projectKE10 Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 but anyway enough name calling it immature and unnecassary Quote

Mate your just a kid, prob still can't even drive in a straight line, n your guna sit there and bag out people who spend years practicing to improve their skills. JELIOUSY IS A CURSE PRINCESS. Quote

Tend to agree.... I will say it can be entertaining at times, but it takes alot more skill to keep a fast car straight through a corner than it does to steer with the back wheels Quote

I will say it can be entertaining at times, but it takes alot more skill to keep a fast car straight through a corner than it does to steer with the back wheels i disagree, finding the apex and keeping the traction down is basic. now get in a slide and hold that slide for the whole track, thats a challange. Anyone can get a car sideways around a corner but how many can hold on to it and not spin around or hit a gutter like our friend in the commadore. Quote
7shades Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 As a rally driver, I am seldom impressed by either. :P Quote
projectKE10 Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 As a rally driver, I am seldom impressed by either. :P Ah someone with some experience, now as a rally driver you would of done your fare share of sliding around, would you agree that once in a slide there is a certain degree of dificulty holding the car on the track, and it takes practice and skill to do so. Quote
7shades Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 It does, but it also takes a considerable amount of skill to hold a perfect line on tarmac whilst simultaneously applying the correct measures of brake, throttle and steering... Every driving disipline requires skill, just in different regards. I have respect for drifters in regards to their ability, but I see it as a limited ability, and its not 'racing' in the purist sense... more a showy display of car control for spectator benefit. Which is fine, don't get me wrong.... but it bores the shit out of me. Quote
Rollaboy2608 Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 yeah I guess if you've seen one slide you've seen them all Quote
Jason Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 (edited) So much hate projectKE10 come on embrace the love :P Eh i don't drive much, nor do I have a car that I would want to drive fast (volvo :D) I like the mechanics more. Edited December 11, 2007 by Jason Quote
