7shades Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 Trying to coerce some excitement out of a dull-as-dishwater fleetmobile. Admirable, but as you can see, unlikely. Quote
smeetsy1 Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 yes yes commodore... or common-whore? i recently watch a story about 'hoons' on ACA and 98% percent of the drivers where commodore owners, who cannot drive... proves they aren't that bright... Quote
towe001 Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007  An old mate barrel rolled and slid his mums car about 100m on a roundabout, he tried telling us that he was "only" doing 40 when it happened.... Yeah, more likely he was doing about 40 when the roof hit the road Quote

Ford owners can't drive either, as my last trip to Toowoomba taught me. A p plater was fishying up a street in the CBD in pouring rain with pedestrians and a full line of parked cars up either side in metered spaces, including mine. Thankfully no drift damage. He even looked at me and gave a couple of pumps of his fist, to which I shook my head and gave a thumbs down. He actually hung his head in shame upon seeing my response. I felt very satisfied with that outcome. Just like our friend above, this gent will have his moment soon enough. End rant. Quote

Des Posted November 27, 2007 Author Report Posted November 27, 2007 most of these people couldnt drive a greasy stick up a dogs arse True, Not saying I'm any good or anything  Not all Commodore/Falcon drivers are shit. Just there are so many around making them cheap thrash cars. Quote
ancullen Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 If I had my way, the licensing laws would be SIGNIFICANTLY different to what they are now. Something similar to the motorbike licensing laws, and yet different. Personally I feel that RWD cars should be restricted to experienced drivers, or at a bare minimum, people who have undertaken a special advanced driving course. At least then they will have made an effort to learn more about how a car handles and they might be able to avoid an accident. Not just a one day course either. At least five days. A power-to-weight limit and a capacity limit wouldn't hurt either. No more than 4.0L and no more than 100kW/tonne (which is still HEAPS). EDIT: This would be for the first two-three years of having a licence, or until said advanced testing has been completed. All drivers should also have to pass a driving test every couple of years too. Every three-five years should do the trick. Quote

Me and the missus saw the exact same thing the other day, wet road, busy intersection in the middle off the day this young bloke comes round the corner (red P's) in a 4x4 ute fish tailing up the road. I thought he must have lost it but he just kept into it as he went by. A couple years ago now a guy I knew through some friends got him self a Datto 1600 and thought he was invincible. He through it into a corner on a wet road, lost it and cleaned up a guy I was at school with at the time and his grand mother who died at the scene. Another mate in a wheel chair after a car load of them (all drunk) lost control on the Bells line road, single lane either way through a cutting on a blind corner. Car coming the other way cleaned them up, one fatal in the other car and another in a wheel chair as well. So f@#king stupid Quote
KE30_KE35_KE55 Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 I use to own a VX commodore the rear wheel alignment regularly looked just like that as i regularaly towed car trailers, about 4 camber kits and six sets of scrubbed inside edged tyres later I sold it. I did learn not to open the rear doors with a load on after a while too. Quote
