Medicine_Man Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 When i do the block I'm also going to remove all the air con shit and fix the cabin fan properly as it only works on one setting, Remove the power steering pump and run the power steering lines straight from the reservoir to the rack. Pump is shagged so... While there is no engine in the car i will change the struts over as well. Sounds like the fan speed resistor is shagged, Don't go ripping apart the blower motor unless you are sure that is what is causing it.. Quote

Dunno, All i want is the fan and heater to work, don't want the air con in it, Doesnt get used. Quote
PHATKE20S Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 Mate this car is becoming expensive.... I think i might just stick with K engines... sacrificing power for durability. ;) Good Luck anyway with the rebuild. :y: It should go well once it's finished. :bash: Quote

7shades Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 He DID pay for it entirely by pole dancing at hens nights after all. Didn't cost a cent and he got a few phone numbers as a bonus.... ;) Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 Of course, by Hens night you mean Bucks party ;) Quote
Des Posted February 6, 2008 Author Report Posted February 6, 2008 Of course, by Hens night you mean Bucks party ;) I dance for any one, Male female i don't care just as long as they pay. Wouldn't trade this car for anything at the moment. I think the total cost including the car is about $2460 with rebuilt head, tires, cd players, gaskets, head studs, struts, rego, oils/filters, rwc and add another 1000 for the rebuilt bottom end. So roughly $3460, I don't think its too bad seeing as you wont find another one with the same gear. Quote
Des Posted February 8, 2008 Author Report Posted February 8, 2008 So the fun begins. I now have a spare oil pump, oil cooler sandwich plate, timing gear. Quote
Des Posted February 11, 2008 Author Report Posted February 11, 2008 Wasted some money today, About $450 that wasn't mine |blink| Sp extra long ring spanners, SP reversible ratchet spanners, SP air 3/8 stubby air ratchet and a mirror on a stick. All i need to buy is some chisels, pry bars and pipe spanners and I'm set for a while. When the engine is out its getting: New Kyb dampers all round. Rebuilt bottom end, Balanced. Removing Cd player and speakers, don't use it as much as i thought i would. Removing back seats and seat belts, Then mod plating. Removing rear door trims and boot trims. Re welding my rear strut brace coz it looks like bird s##t. Removing air con pump and other affiliated gear. Removing power steering pump and just running the lines from the reservoir to the rack, Pump is f##ked. Tomorrow I'm fitting 15x6 2003 corolla stock rims. Quote
7shades Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 Sexy tools 'Smond... whats the quality like on SP stuff? I've been looking at a few bits n pieces but I don't really know anyone that uses them... (and gives them a proper flogging like I would) I bought an air ratchet last month. I can't believe I ever bothered to work on cars without one... Quote
Des Posted February 11, 2008 Author Report Posted February 11, 2008 Haven't broken anything yet, Its bound to break sooner or later. Id rate them 8/10, Price is good, Quality is good, The only down side is most people have to buy it from repco as a special order. Quote
Des Posted February 13, 2008 Author Report Posted February 13, 2008 Just bought a Snap-on seal puller and a blue-point magnet thingy. The rims i bought for my corolla are egged shape so I'm going to get my money back and keep my alloys for a while longer. Quote
