Redwarf Posted October 29, 2004 Report Posted October 29, 2004 Nick... very tolerant, you haven't even used the "G" word yet..... :jason: Quote
trdcamrypride Posted October 29, 2004 Report Posted October 29, 2004 maby this might come in handy in the future.? Quote
OverDose Posted October 30, 2004 Author Report Posted October 30, 2004 ive tried google, other forums and they all said try here ive also searched this forum which came up with nothing Quote
Mr Revhead[RL] Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 go the mighty 20v!! theres 2 ways u could do it... get a halfcut and use the factory ecu etc. this means ull need to do some panel work around the firewall toclear the dizzy option2 buy the engine and loom and use an aftermarke ecu u can then use a crank angle sensor (like 4agze) therefore having plenty of room by the fire wall. id go this way. as it allows better tuning and more scope for later on, like a turbo!!! :blinks: ae71 crossmember would be a good choice. as for a gearbox and t50 box is easy enough. its the bellhousing thats hard.. how about going w55 and turbo.. mate of mine has a ke70 with turbo 20v. it excites me :jason: Quote
OverDose Posted October 31, 2004 Author Report Posted October 31, 2004 ive found plenty on the ae86 conversion so theyre the same? what halfcut? 4age come in rwd? cheers, Quote
Redwarf Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 Is this where the "G" word comes in again? Look here. and start reading! Quote
Teddy Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 oh no not again, i clicked on the http://www.billzilla.org link, and i have been hooked into reading the 4age page again :blinks: when i am supost to be doing an art project... but oh my those pages are so intresting to read ! :jason: Quote
Mr Revhead[RL] Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 (edited) overdose, a little tip... generally people on forums are very keen to help. for a lot of us thats a major part of it. i love helping fellow enthusiasts. iv found that if you do a bit of research and don't just ask every question you can think of youll get more help. ie, show your doing the work and ull get more. some people get annoyed at people expecting to be told all the secrets (some learned at great pain and exspense) just a little tip, please don't misunderstand this as a flame :jason: id be happy to answer any specific questions u have. thats is providing i know the answer! Mr Revhead[RL] Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 oh and for the half cut question..... ae101 will get you an 20v silvertop ae111 will give you a black top as to which one u choose will depend on what u want... if u intend to go turbo start with the silvertop. the best combo would be silver top shortblock, blacktop head. the silver top has stronger conrods. if you wanna go n/a then black top would be the best. if you aim for more than or constant 85-9000rpm then ull need the silvertop rods Quote
Teddy Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 oh this stuff is intresting :blinks: i can't wait till we start the conversion pages ! i reaaalllly want to read on about the 20V, but i have to go back to art Grrrrr - Cyas :jason: ! Quote
